John Danks should never start for the White Sox again
Buehrle>Wood replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 06:05 PM) Yes, but you don't want guys like Jones, Albers, and Putnam doing that. If you're down several runs early in the game and it's unlikely that you'll win the game, you want somebody out there who (1) can throw a lot of innings and (2) you weren't planning on using in higher-leverage situations. A washed-up starter is ideal for those situations. Erik Johnson would be much better suited for that role. The Sox don't give a s*** about if his arm falls off and he's a far superior pitcher than Danks at this point or in the very least, not worse. -

Buehrle>Wood replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Can we stop calling a eating innings an ability? Literally anyone can go out there and get destroyed while throwing a lot of pitches. -
ESPN just kicked off 5 pm Sportscenter with the Tunsil story, calling it the biggest story of the draft and it has "shown no signs of slowing down". They have 5 reporters on location, at 5 different locations. If they don't want it to die, it won't die.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 04:24 PM) f*** Robin. What kind of f***ing bulls*** is this that Robin thinks that f***ing Danks give the team any shot to win any motherf***ing games. What a f***ing joke. While I share your anger, I doubt this is Robin's call. -
Tommy Kahnle called up, Webb to 15 day DL

If this is longer term, hetc should have been called up anyways -
QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) The point was that Incognito is back in the league and isn't a distraction. So surmise that Tunsil's draft date drama is going to be an issue that follows him is just not supported by the history of offensive linemen in the NFL. He was out of the league for 1.5 years. He was still a distraction during the the first part when he was merely suspended, thanks to the media not being able to stfu about him. He then literally had to leave the nfl for a full season to not be a distraction anymore. Not because he wasn't a capable player, but purely because he'd be a distraction. Correct, it's hard to be a distraction to a team when youre not actually on a team (JFF will try his best now though), but his case would a worse case scenario here.

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) Isn't it way more likely that he was kept away from the mic at his introductory press conference because every question was going to be about his multiple hacked social media accounts? He wasn't going to get a single question about football. He's an offensive lineman. They are not generally in the limelight. If Richie Incognito's stuff can go away, I see no reason that Tunsil's draft day drama is going to hound the Dolphins for the next four years. Incognito missed 24 games all because he, even being an offensive lineman, went into the spotlight after the initial headlines, and the media made a complete spectacle of him, dug as deep as possible into him, and got him blackballed from the league. Don't get me wrong, it was well deserved, but he is hardly the example you should bring up here. His case should be way more caution for the Dolphins than not.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) It's really not. They'll protect him and answer some questions for a few weeks then for the most part it'll go away because the picture and text messages just aren't a big deal for Tunsil. You may have missed the last 24 hour round the clock coverage of him. PR nightmare indeed.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 01:39 PM) I absolutely hate this line of thinking. They're already 0-4 in his starts, and in 3 of them he gave them no chance to win. He's pretty much one of the 3 worst pitchers in baseball over the last 4 seasons. We've seen too many seasons derailed over the past twenty years due to incompetent number 5 starters. Seriously. Sox fans should know better than anyone. 2003 ring a bell for anyone? The best team in Sox history doesn't make the playoffs in big part because we have to throw Danny Wright out there every 5th day. -
Dude is done. Our guys at AAA would have to try and be worse.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 07:12 PM) Turner walked a bunch last night. Maybe I'm being easy on Danks because the team is 16-6. Let's just say be careful what you wish for. Yeah you're being easy. It literally can't be any worse than Danks right now. -

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) If Miguel Gonzalez (or Johnson) has a couple good starts in AAA while Danks has a couple more bad starts, that probably would be it. It would be nice if Buehrle was secretly getting in shape and wanted to come back, but I highly doubt it. I really doubt we ever see him again. Turner is getting a couple million and pitching well. He's next. -
