  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 24, 2014 -> 09:06 AM) Or it's that people think Love is a stat-padder and isn't as good as his numbers suggest. I'd take him with this deal, and I would love the spacing for Rose that he would provide, but I can understand the hesitation. There's a lot of potential with Mirotic and McDermott, and Taj is one of the best defenders in the game. Also, if you're going up against Cleveland or the Spurs or whoever, you need as many offensive weapons as possible. Bringing in Love basically drops you down to 2 (him and Rose), maybe three if you include Gasol. Whereas Mirotic and McDermott, IF you believe the hype, could get you scoring from 4 positions if necessary (Rose, McDermott, Mirotic, Gasol). There's no way you can argue swapping Mirotic and McDermott for Love does not improve this team offensively. Mirotic is a third string power forward.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 10:01 PM) Are we just assuming Martin comes with Love? I love that possibility but more or less wondering where it's coming from... They want out of his contract. So yeah its an assumption. He was rumored to the Bulls with Love when those rumors popped up during the season.
  3. PG- Rose SG- Martin SF- Butler PF- Love C- Noah Bench: Gasol, Dunleavy, Brooks, Snell Butler and Noah can carry us defensively and that team ain't losing a game in the east.
  4. Speaking of that Fatolo is perfect through 6 against the Mariners? Can the Mets finally do it? No. Edit: woah, totally blanked on Johan's no-no. Whoops.
  5. Thanks, Flowers. May you be dfa'd soon
  6. Was Alexei trying on that at bat?
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) There's a Viciedo thread and a Danks thread.... If ops aren't going to update then new threads should be started.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 03:57 PM) , s*** job by the catcher who is covered in body armor. Figuratively too.
  9. I meant for today. Didn't think there was a deadline but could be wrong.
  10. Anyone know which box office section sells tickets in game? Probably gonna head up there now and watch the last three innings. They aren't online unfortunately.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:29 PM) Yes, so if true, this will probably drag on for at least that long. Why accept the offer now? It's not like the Bulls have other places to go to pick up a star. Why not wait and maybe some other team sweetens their offer. I doubt the Bulls are going to pull it before any games are played. Just another slow news day in the NBA, so time to get the Bulls fans excited before the dissappointment. This is playing out just like Melo. Possible, then no chance. Then, well maybe. Next is actually the Bulls are frontrunners, and finally, Love to Cleveland. I agree it probably drags out but they could agree now since any deal is likely on Love resigning. If he does so now the agreement will leak.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:14 PM) I wouldn't have thought so probably because I assumed that would be a package for so long, but have been surprised how much national media is taking that seriously. Oh NBA offseason, right as I'm almost out, you pull me back in. I agree with this. I think the Wolves are absolutely idiots if they are considering anything the Bulls offer vs Wiggins. But god dammit I'm driving the hype train anyways. I want to bolieve.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 11:15 AM) Depends if you think athleticism as a wing is the only path to being a superstar. He could easily be an also ran with that same talent if the other aspects dont develop. Bunch of question marks in this deal as far as I am concerned, and I have NO idea how Bennett all of a sudden became valuable. Of course he could totally bust, but that's why it's potential, something greater currently than what the Bulls can offer. At the very least he should be elite Defensively. And Bennett isn't worth anything other than a nice line in the press release saying the Wolves got two number one picks.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 11:05 AM) Some people would say you are overrating Wiggins at this time. So nobody really knows what types of players these guys will be. The Bulls offer is very very good and at the very least pressure Cleveland to give up too much which is good for the Bulls anyway. Man I'm being criticized for both over rating and under rating Wiggins now, ha. He is a potential superstar with improvement in his offensive game. Given how athletic he is, it's easy to see that he can get there. The same can't be said for anyone the Bulls offer. I don't know why anyone would disagree with that.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 10:56 AM) Chad Ford said the same thing about Mirotic He said top 6 and that was in January. Don't think a 23 year old goes top 5 in the '14 draft.
  16. The top 5 pick stuff for Mirotic is from France Franchilla who over rates every international prospect ever because, well, it's his job. It's like asking Hawk about Gordon Beckham. I'm sure it won't stop that from being repeated ad nauseum here, but no one was offering their top 5 pick for Mirotic. I do believe he could have been top 10, maybe. Right now he's a 3rd string power forward. Cleveland offers the better package as long as they include Wiggins. He's a potential locked up superstar. Thats what every team in the league craves. Gibson is nice but 30 and McDermott and Mirotic might be good too but you can't pass on Wiggins. Waiters is decent enough to add some value. Bennett is likely garbage, but they have the Heat number 1 too which should be worth more than a Bulls pick.
  17. One that unfortunately falls well short of Wiggins. But I'm down for another hype train. Choo choo!
  18. And what the hell is this that keeps getting posted that Love doesn't create for others? He's the best outlet passer in the nba and it's not close. Him to Lebron on the fast break would be the scariest thing to happen to nba defenders. I know he plays in Minnesota but come on, at least watch him a little bit.
  19. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 08:56 AM) Fixed He is top 5 but even then you're still proving my point.
  20. Espn with a rountable on Wiggins vs. Love. Better player in 5 years: Should Cavs be willing to give up Wiggins for Love I think people here must be forgetting he's only 25.
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:48 AM) I agree with J4L too. Love is good. I think Wiggins is going to be a superstar though. If he was offered, the deal would be done in my opinion. Love is a superstar undoubtedly.
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 03:26 PM) It's too bad that GWB is one of the least popular presidents of all time because he'd probably make an excellent commish. I think even his critics would see him as a great choice if he'd commit to the job. He's obviously by far the most qualified. But he's already had enough stress in his life I can't see him wanting to do it.
  23. I don't get how Kevin Garnett making the playoffs is remotely relevant to that but okay. You are in very much in the minority of not willing to give up Wiggins for Love. They'll do it if they have to. Also I have a hard time saying a big man so widely know for his passing that he doesn't make his teammates better.
