Twins out, Red Sox in on Pierzynski
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 02:43 PM) The point is that you are looking for a long term solution. You are discattention ng semantics, which, ok, I guess. You would bring in AJ Pierzynski only to deal him at the deadline. For what he gave this franchise, I think that's a huge slap in the face. It would also take quite a time convincing him to come in using that pitch. More likely is that AJ never had any interest in re-signing with the Sox, regardless of their interest level (which was still probably nil) Nah, you bring him in to see if you can win. If not, trade him to a contender where he will be happier. You also grab a lot of much needed media attention in the process. As for where he would sign, I'm sure it's wherever the money is, like everyone else.

Twins out, Red Sox in on Pierzynski
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) Yes, because it's imperative that the Sox win 78 games this season. No one ever claimed he would put us over the hump.... An old, lefty stop gap catcher that you can potentially pawn off for a piece is just what the doctor ordered for this team. A lot better than giving Salty 4 years or whatever he will get IMO.

AJ back to the Sox makes way too much sense...except for the inexplicable backlash from a weird part of our fanbase.

White Sox Re-Sign Tyler Flowers
Hopefully we will never have to see him play again. Truly a terrible player. His injury was a convenient excuse that hurt us.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 11:50 PM) Huh? HS? Pretty sure he's talking about the game from a few weeks ago. Yeah but Parker may have fouled out, but it certainly wasn't because of Wiggins like he said. Two winning shots is also a big stretch. EDIT: I guess he means Parker's 5th foul was committed against Wiggins. Okay, guess that makes more sense, but still ridiculous to read anything into, particularly on a break away.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 08:15 PM) He was pretty good in Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street. Especially 21 Jump Street, that movie was hilarious. I used to despise Tatum until 21 Jump Street. He was phenomenal in that (that whole movie was something everyone including me thought were be absolutely awful and turned out to be one of the funniest movies out there). This is the End confirmed he's the coolest guy ever.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 09:33 PM) Arencibia to be non-tendered if not traded in the next 8.5 hours. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/thread...ibia-a-Contract Reading those reactions is awesome. Exactly how I'd feel if we did the same to Flowers.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 10:30 PM) Guys he recruited are saying the same thing on twitter. And I'll give credit to USC (of all schools) for realizing where it stands and going after realistic candidates like Peterson and Sark. That's very rare these days.

Putting Auburn ahead of Ohio State is ridiculous. Mizzou is going to pound them next weekend anyways. That said, it's still entirely possible Auburn gets put ahead of OSU using some basic math. Heck even if they were consensus number 1 in the computers and 3 in the human polls, that would mean a tie with Auburn. Obviously the formula is slightly more complex than than that, but you know there's going to be some ridiculous campaigning for them.

Steve Hull is such a beast. Leading the country the last 4 games in receiving yards. Wonder if he has a chance in the pros. Probably a stretch, but he deserves it after being wasted on defense for 3 years. If not Beckman should give him a million dollars for single handedly saving his job.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 30, 2013 -> 08:37 PM) Not a huge fan of the actual play call though. Why send every receiver to same side of field? Yeah I liked going for it but you have to give Gardner a chance to run

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 30, 2013 -> 06:40 AM) It just seems like the perfect place for that scheme. You aren't going to pull the street ballers from Chicaproblem but you can target the upscale shooters from the area who value an education and pull the random top recruit once in awhile. I don't know. I just don't like them trying to match up toe to toe with other teams. Nw players arent going to play ISO The problem is their recruiting system is poor. They need an overhaul for all sports. Push academics. Northwestern has relaxed its academic standards for recruits in the last ten years or so there was no reason for Carmody to recruit as poor as he did. I agree his system wasn't the problem but there's no sense in keeping anyone around if you can't make the tournament in CBB, something Carmody proved he couldn't do.
