I will be back in two days. Would love to see if someone knows what this is from. Have fun.
I do, although we already discussed it so I won't spoil it for everyone else.
And no to the above. This one is very obscure though.
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 05:12 PM)
Oh man, Miller is brutal. Absolutely no need for two Loogys on the team. Anything more than AA fodder shouldn't be traded for him.
Bye bye Will Ohman

Was it kona that broke the Peavy deal? I remember someone on that board saying it out of nowhere late on a week night. I'd be stunned at this point if this rumor is false.
Didn't that trade happen right at the deadline? Not at night...unless you mean the first one.
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 05:44 AM)
I just laugh that people state bulls*** like "guys are problems in the clubhouse" as if they're f***ing facts. Not a single person here can make that claim and using that as something to support an argument is comical.
Our most "problematic" clubhouse of the last ten years won the division in epic fashion. That should tell you how much a clubhouse means.

It doesn't seem that Swisher had any issues in the clubhouse in OAK or NY.
That's because drugs are the norm there.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 09:04 PM)
I thought this was especially interesting considering the current White Sox fan debate over coaching. From espn.com:
Cardinals manager Tony La Russa has lost faith in Rasmus, in part for his tendency to use outside coaching help for his hitting.
Then he would be very much ideal for us, as he would not have to listen to Greg Walker.
I think people forget how this board was before the World Series. It was "worse" than it is now. Fact is, if you can't put up with pessimism, you're not going to put up with Soxtalk, and this has always been true. Not really much different now, so I don't see the need for the attention seeking topics.
I haven't been watching, but with Vince leaving, Danielson winning, Punk on top of the world, and Colt Cabana ringside the other night, it's painfully obvious that they are going for a RoH-invasion line.
We cannot get worse, or at least it wouldn't matter if we did. So at least we are all in agreement firing walker could only make this team better. Come on KW.

Also no real monetary gain for the losses.
Itd be one thing if gong to the moon brought you new world riches like discoverers in the 15th century. Its another thing when you keep sending people to the Antartic to bring back scientific research.

I'm sure there is tons more. NASA should have just patented all of these and became self-supportive.

I just look at the teams that people mention fire coaches and don't see a huge jump in performance afterward. I think we should be concentrating the blame on the players rather than a hitting coach.
So basically once again the best defense for Walker is trying to deflect the blame for him. The argument goes that nothing will change, and perhaps that's even right, so what the hell is wrong with getting rid of walker then?
