  1. It's too bad Northwestern can't rebound in the least bit.
  2. Shout out to fathom's boy, putting on an absolute show tonight. Gunning for Reggie Miller's Pac-10 scoring record.
  3. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 06:12 AM) Maybe, but I think we all know Illinois is not actually a tournament quality team. And I am not sure they will make it in. Using ESPN's bubble watch as a guide, there's like 10 spots for 14 bubble teams (unless I miscounted). I can easily come up with 10 bubble teams I'd take over Illinois: Utah St, UAB, Georgia, BC, Saint Mary's, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Colorado, Nebraska, Alabama And there's probably more (Michigan...maybe USC....probably some mid-majors with lousy RPIs but who have actually won a bunch of games which Illinois did not). The expansion of the field helps Illinois a lot, but I think until you know if there are any upsets for the automatic bids, it's really hard to say. I don't think Illinois is in now and I don't think beating Michigan moves them to safely in. In fact, unless they beat tOSU they should be sweating. You're hatred for Illinois has turned insane. Literally none of those teams mentioned would likely get in over Illinois, except perhaps Utah State. Out of the 68 "bracketolgists" used for the bracket matrix, all 68 have Illinois in. And they have them pretty comfortably in. Only one of those 68 has them as low as even an 11.
  4. Protip: every year the bubble is weak. This weak more than ever but only because there aqre three more teams. Illinois would not be one of those last three teams in anyways however, nor are they really even on the bubble.
  5. I like Penn State to make a run here, perhaps to Sunday.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 10:53 PM) I didn't see it, but all the CBB people on Twitter are basically calling for the heads of the referees, that the non-calls were that bad. I guess they could have reviewed the final 1.7 seconds too. Yeah, it was also a blatent technical foul (so it was reviewable), so Rutgers should have been shooting FTs with the ball.
  7. John Beilein would be my pick for Coach of the Year. Who could have possibly called them for the 4 seed come tourney time?
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) I've been following online but wasn't watching it...what happened? Rutgers had a chance to win it. Got blatantly fouled, no call. FTs to SJU, miss the 1 and 1. Rebound going to Rutgers until he gets tossed out of bounds by the SJU player, no call. Then by far the worst of them all. 6 seconds left, Rutgers throws the full length of the floor for some reason. SJU intercepts, except he thinks the games over. He travels, walks out of bounds, and throws the ball 50 feet into the stands. In other words, he turned the ball over 3 different times. Nothing was called here and the refs walked off the court. Rutgers should have had the ball with 2 seconds left.
  9. Holy f***, I don't know if I've ever seen a team get jobbed down the stretch quite like Rutgers did. Take a bow Jim Burr.
  10. 'Nova goes down to USF. Arky Little Rock going dancing thanks to a last second GW three. Two championship games on now including Butler and Oakland playing (not each other, obviously).
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) No there isnt. In fact Ken Gordon has confirmed nothing of the sort is happening. Just reporting what Dennis Dodd and the rest of Twitter nation were saying. If it did happen, highly doubtful it would happen tonight. My guess is Tressel gets suspended somehwere down the line. That's a big black eye for Ohio State either way. EDIT: Also, Ken Gordon just took down his tweet say Tressel wasn't getting fired. Weird. Doubt it means anything still.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) If that is true there is a lot more today's report that it just being a rehash of old information. Not really old information. What Tressel did was the just short of being the biggest nono out there. Only thing left is to determine the difference between lying and not saying anything.
  13. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 7, 2011 -> 11:41 PM) You guys can't think of a guy who has played Catcher and Outfielder? Really? How about in your own division, and a pretty well known name in the division too. Brandon Inge anyone? Not really sure who this is referring to, but I would hope everyone would know soon to be hall of famer Craig Biggio.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 7, 2011 -> 11:26 PM) My big issue with the bolded is what's going on in the big east right now. It seems that the media loves to hype the big east because of how "competitive" it is. Well, it's pretty easy to hype that when you have so many teams. If highly ranked team A beats lowly ranked team B, it's somehow an excusable loss because of how tough the conference is. I mean which would you rather have, a conference with 3-4 top 25 ranked teams that have dominated the conference, or a conference with 5-6 legit top 25 teams that have lost some games to the lower end of the conference (of course purdue losting to iowa screws up this argument, but that's just one game)? The Big East hype is a joke. I believe they haven't played to seed since 2002, whereas every other major conference has done it multiple times in that time-frame.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 7, 2011 -> 11:26 PM) Also, why is Michigan the 4 and Illinois is the 5 in the standings? Anyone know? Didn't Illinois win the head to head? And they have identical records. I don't get it. There was a four way tie for 4th place, so head to head records are meaningless (at least on a 1 to 1 basis). Not sure what the final criteria was, but the Penn State/Minny game decided it. If PSU would have lost, Illinois would have gotten the 4, Michigan the 5. Not that it really matters.
  16. The bottom of the Big Ten bracket is going to be a lot of fun.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 2, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) I see Mike Bibby is about to sign with the Heat. That's a nice move for them. He's still got a pretty sweet jumper and his assist/turnover ratio has always been pretty good. It's a good move if only for the fact that I could beat Carlos Arroyo in 1 on 1. How he was earning an NBA paycheck is beyond me.
  18. It's so sad that the Big Ten was robbed of Steve Lavin for Dan Dakich.
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 04:36 AM) Be so sweet for a Lebron miss to end it. .
  20. So Bosh has to have one of the worst shooting percentages(>0) in a game ever.
  21. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 02:57 AM) Reasonable people can disagree on whether you want Mayo or Asik, I can tell you this isn't true. You want Mayo every time. Even if you don't want Mayo, he's worth more than Asik, so you could just get rid of him for better parts. This is the 3rd pick in a loaded draft from 2 years ago we're talking about here. It's all a moot point anyways. Grizzlies backed out of a deal for McRoberts and a potential lottery pick today for Mayo, so I think we all can all agree Asik wasn't getting it done there. Anyways, good game going on here. Let's focus on that.
  22. Thanks. For anyone who has made it to a 2nd round interview for an internship, do they tend to ask a lot of technical questions then? Or is that saved for job interviews? I've had a ton of 1st round interviews where no technical problems are asked and 1 other second round interview where they didn't ask basically anything.
