Hate to see him go out like this. He should be remembered as one of the best RH hitters of all time, not this.
Dude may be the first MLBer to test positive for something on 3 different occasions. That's what he should be remembered as.
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 06:38 PM)
No one is going to claim him. He is going to Charlotte and will be back up if anything happens.
Probably. Just saying we have to wait regardless.
Twitter chatter says he accepted his assignment. Not sure if he even had an out-clause. Guessing we'll still have to wait the three days for waiver claims.

Royals signed Jeff Francis to a 1 year $2 million contract.
He seems like the type of guy that's going to dominate the Sox for no reason.
Yeah.
It was dumb not to use Thorton. No defending that. He's now pitched once in 5 days. His usage rate was in the low to mid forty percent in 08-09. I have no reason to think he cannot do the same, but something tells me the stupid closer title will prevent him from doing that. I guess a lot of people saw this as a potential problem though.
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 10:01 PM)
If he's going to fail out why not just let him play? At that point what do you lose? He's gone next year anyway. I'm also not sure why he continued to participate in team gatherings last week and why Weber came out and said he expected him back.
weber wanted him to play. That's why he would never give his official status. It was people above him at play here.
Not sure about what his status would be next year, but grades were why he didn't play in the ncaa tournament. I hope no one actually bought the locker room fight but it wasn't the coaches call line. One of the worst coverups ever.
With Richmond, you could think about a league championship. Granted, it says a lot more on how awful the big ten will be, but still. Without him, Illinois is a complete wild card.
QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 08:31 PM)
So what does that do to Illinois' starting lineup next year? Richardson and Paul are the go to guys with some combination of unproven guys in the frontcourt. How many freshmen start?
Probably none except maybe Shaw. It will be Maniscalo, Paul, Richardson, Leonard, and probably Griffey.

Has anyone seen Insidious? I've been hearing positive reviews from several of my friends.
Saw it last night. The first eighty percent of the movie is great. About as good and as fun as scary movies get. The final act though is pretty ridiculous. Still definitely worth seeing.
They've now beaten UCLA, Old Dominion, George Mason, USC, Georgetown, Purdue, Florida State, Kansas and another kenpom top 30 team in WSU. They're pretty good. Shaka got into Harvard too. I would trust him with my program.
