  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 3, 2011 -> 01:35 AM) All because we killed the worlds #1 terrorist after 10 years and were happy about it? Really? Yes, the extremists who want us dead, well, wanted us all dead all ready.
  2. If they didn't kill him, Osama would have a video out today, doing his best Truman impression.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 2, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) Teacher who vowed not to shave until bin Laden was caught or killed finally shaves ...good thing he wasn't mistakenly killed.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) The interesting thing is though...the American reaction to that sort of celebration would be seething anger. As it should be. I'm sure Al-Qaeda is angry that people are celebrating the death of their leader.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 2, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) The greatness of our country was on 9/11, when in the face of death people did heroic things. The list of NY FD and PD, the people on the plane that fought back, that is America's greatness. Every time I see a picture of NY that includes the Twin Towers, I think of America's greatness, it is in the spirit of those who were willing to sacrifice everything for someone that they had never met. No one will disagree with that. But being the one to rid the world of a man responsible for 10,000 human lives is another reason why America is great.
  6. I was 11 during the events of September 11th. Like my peers, it was one of the most vivid days of my life. I remember being completely shellshocked about the events and what I was seeing. Up to that point, I was taught that America was the greatest, invincible. All of the sudden, that changed in an instant. We went from world-conquering power to being under attack by some random guy thousands of miles away. This was pretty damning to an 11 year old to take on and understand. It has definitely had a lasting effect on me. Fast forward a decade, we have been in multiple wars that in hindsight people think were pretty pointless. We caused one of the greatest economic downfalls ever. And now this. I don't think people were necessarily celebrating to celebrate the death of Osama. Rather, we were celebrating because America did something great, something that no one else could apparently do. Something that was a decade in the making. For the first time in my generation's life, we could celebrate the greatness of our country. And that's a good thing.
  7. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) I still don't get how KW is blamed for this horrendous start. People need bump some threads that were started in the off season when the Sox signed Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko. Almost everyone here was excited. Most of us thought that the Sox were the team to beat in the central and would definitely catapult over the twins. He got the players, and now they aren't performing. So how is that his fault? Sure, he's made a few mistakes. But I still think he's done way more good than bad here. I hope KW is here for a long long time. Agreed with this. Coming into the season we had exactly 2 concerns: a shaky back-end of the bullpen (not too big a deal), and wondering if Morel could handle full-time 3b duties. We have 100 more questions now, but I cannot blame KW for this.
  8. I just turned on the game...I take it there was a better oppurtunity to PH Dunn?
  9. It's sad when it takes Brent Lillibridge to save your job.
  10. I thought Tyrese stole the movie. 5>4>1>>>>>>>>>>>>2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3
  11. Fast Five, perhaps the best in the series.
  12. Mark Buehrle is better than Kerry Wood.
  13. It's pretty shocking that people still defend Walker. Of course, their arguments usually boil down to either: 1) Our offense won't get any better with someone else or 2) Don Cooper is overrated
  14. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) 24 Hrs for maintenance does not equal a week plus due to hackersXBox Live went down for a week earlier this generation. Edit: Actually 2 weeks.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) What's up with the Yankees hitting coach? They can't hit a waiver claim. He needs to get fired. Way to try and derail a rare positive thread with the same act of yours.
  16. The Show was the first thing that came to mind with everyone praising Humber. Still, the first 4 starts are at least encouraging.
  17. Anon isn't really an organization so them denying it doesn't really mean much. I'm guessing the hacker still came from the call to arms under the anonymous umbrella due to the geohot thing. But yeah, Sony probably could have had psn back up in a day, but there's no doubt they're redoing their entire network now. On another note, Nintendo officially confirms cafe and that it will launch in 2012. May hear more specific details later tonight.
  18. So 127 hours wasn't good.
  19. Any thoughts on Project Cafe? Interesting Nintendo is going to beat MS and Sony by 2 years. 350 to 400 is a little much. Guessing the controller will cost 100 in itself, but it sounds amazing.
