September 28, 201114 yr Let's do it! I'm sure there will be two Game 163's tomorrow since I work all day and won't be able watch.
September 28, 201114 yr Tex just hit a grand slam, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say David Price = Javy Vasquez
September 28, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) Tex just hit a grand slam, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say David Price = Javy Vasquez I'll go out on a limb and disagree. Come on Baltimore!
September 29, 201114 yr Thank you David Price...if you just made Dave Martinez easier to get a hold of after today...
September 29, 201114 yr JJ Hardy puts Baltimore ahead. Rooting for Rays, Orioles, Braves, Astros today.
September 29, 201114 yr Thanks a lot, Yankees, you f***ing jagoffs. Now you just know the Red Sox will go on a ridiculous run in the playoffs.
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) Thank you David Price...if you just made Dave Martinez easier to get a hold of after today... Basically what I'm thinking. The earlier the Rays are knocked out, the more likely Martinez gets the job.
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 01:37 AM) Thanks a lot, Yankees, you f***ing jagoffs. Now you just know the Red Sox will go on a ridiculous run in the playoffs. Reminds me of Bears not trying to beat Packers at end of regular season last year.
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) Reminds me of Bears not trying to beat Packers at end of regular season last year. Huh? The Yankees are winning. Big.
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) Basically what I'm thinking. The earlier the Rays are knocked out, the more likely Martinez gets the job. Do you think that if Kenny really wanted him, he would hire somone else because he didn't want to wait?
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 02:08 AM) Huh? The Yankees are winning. Big. Yeah, the Yanks should have done what they had to in order to get their main rival out of the playoffs (one they know has more talent than the other team that could make it).
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) Yeah, the Yanks should have done what they had to in order to get their main rival out of the playoffs (one they know has more talent than the other team that could make it). The yanks should have thrown the game?
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) The yanks should have thrown the game? No, I think he's saying that they're doing the right thing for themselves.
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) Huh? The Yankees are winning. Big. They simply had to do the opposite of the Bears should have done to achieve the same goal. Lose this game to help eliminate the Red Sox from the playoffs. This game means nothing to them. That being said, I'm not sure the theory at this point isn't to try to eliminate the Rays and their much stronger pitching staff than the Red Sox and their incredibly struggling staff...
September 29, 201114 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 09:19 PM) They simply had to do the opposite of the Bears should have done to achieve the same goal. That being said, I'm not sure the theory at this point isn't to try to eliminate the Rays and their much stronger pitching staff than the Red Sox and their incredibly struggling staff... That's what I'd think.
September 29, 201114 yr I don't think either Wild Card team is gonna go far in the playoffs. Whoever it is, will be spent and none of the 4 (except for the Rays, though not looking good for them) have pitching issues.... Kenny should have some texts and e-mails to Martinez saved as drafts ready to hit send once the Rays get eliminated...
September 29, 201114 yr Phillies tied it up. With the Yankees, yeah maybe it'd benefit them more to lose to the Rays so the Rays can make the playoffs instead of the Red Sox. But as a competitor do you really want to not try to win a game? The baseball gods wouldn't like that if you believe in them haha. But also that could possibly change the mentality of the team.
September 29, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) Kimbrel blows it... I wanna think he is worn out but still has great stuff. Just wild. Edited September 29, 201114 yr by Brian
September 29, 201114 yr You gotta wonder, the Braves leaned on a very YOUNG bullpen that had been lights out all season long... Does it seem like they just ran out of gas?
