  1. Look on the bright side, maybe they’re close to a deal with Bryce and this leak was their final FU to Bruce for his reporting this offseason.
  2. It’s simple, there would be no reason for the Sox to broadcast they are going after Bryce. It would only give the Phillies reason to increase their bid and would set up the fan base to get pissed again if they missed out on him. I have no clue if they are interested in him, but I do know that if they wanted to create a false narrative that they’re out, Bob and Bruce are the two reporters they would leak to.
  3. Trading Tatis is forgivable. Missing on Manny and wanting to acquire Shields are inexcusable.
  4. I don’t believe so at all. Who knows, maybe they believed 8/240 instead of 8/280 over the weekend. Remember the reports of different teams hearing different numbers?
  5. Anyone ever thought Manny wanted to go to Padres over Sox? Trust me, I despise what happened this week, but far too many narratives being pushed that don’t seem to be set in reality.
  6. How in the living hell is KW the possible bad guy? Seriously, what does Rick have to do for people to actually realize how bad he’s done at his job.
  7. It’s obvious that the Rosenthal comment on Monday was someone alerting him to the fact JR had just met with Lozano. It could have easily been Lozano spreading that info to get the Padres to up theirs.
  8. I thought the end of the year final offer call was more to eliminate 2 of the 6 teams.
  9. Well if the Sox were in on Harper still and trying to do a sneak attack on the Phillies, they sure as hell would have not told Bruce or Bob they were in on him.
  10. They didn’t go from 7/175 to 8/250 just like that. As Hahn even said, it was news to him that the offer dropped 70 million when he was at a hockey game.
  11. The irony is someone on here said that night was when the Padres got serious about Manny.
  12. Always seemed like the Sox were playing not to lose instead of putting on full court press.
  13. This is exactly what you have said
  14. They didn’t want to bid against themselves. They thought 250 was enough, so why go to 300?
  15. Yep Sox never had a “home field advantage” in this recruitment
  16. The simplest explanation is the Sox thought they were high bid and no one was offering 300. They were wrong and Lozano wasn’t bluffing. Instead of admitting to blowing it, KW brings up then 300 obstacle as a way to try and rationalize the error.
  17. Him saying he’s never been more ticked off in his fucking life seems more hostile than that
  18. If it was that cut and dry, I doubt KW would have been so pissed.
  19. Well said...the Sox clearly thought they were getting Manny, so why wouldn’t that be the information that insiders are being provided. It’s not like anyone claimed to be getting info from Lozano or Manny, etc.
  20. They’re basically the exact opposite in terms of prestige right now.
  21. Of course they’re delusional, they think players want to play for a manager that will bench you at the slightest hint of not running hard down the line.
  22. I will say if the Sox did sign Harper, there would never be a more fitting use of the Dumb and Dumber “completely redeem yourself” gif
  23. Yep the Padres contract would have been perfect if the Sox got him with that.
  24. Doesn’t sound serious thankfully
  25. I’m sure Yonder did a great job recruiting. John Calipari couldn’t get someone to change their mind for a guaranteed 50 million.
