Nice research but I was just going based off of the reports about the Dodgers priorities. For a week everyone thought they were trying to clear space for Harper (including some supposed “insiders”) but it became the narrative that they weren’t interested in him necessarily. I said they should go after Harper and Kluber due to their current window, but I don’t think they will go after both. Weird for you to pick on me though as at least I wasn’t melting down about the Sox chances compared to most on here.
Even if they (Cubs) get Harper, that's not going to change much in terms of the relevancy of the Sox. They're already about as irrelevant as possible in Chicago. The only Sox fans remaining are likely not going to jump ship now, as they would have done that in 2016.
I know there's a lot of skepticism with him, but Incarcerated Bob seems to be implying he might have some news on Harper tonight. He also retweeted the sun-times article about how the WSox fans should be prepared for disappointment. Bob has been pretty accurate with things so far this offseason.
Yet he’s a good fit for the Cubs where you have exceptional offense at other positions. Run prevention is something they’ve really excelled at thanks in large part to Heyward
That would be a move for the future for the Giants, as they get a nice controllable piece in Happ and two good prospects while unloading Melancon's awful deal. There's been speculation they want premier outfielder defenders.
Yes no doubt but also pretty telling that they’re actively trying to create room for him. Not that this is a surprise, but this information is almost word for word what the Cat tweeted on 12/12
