Yeah that was an awesome 48 hours or so with 3 major signings.

I’m not buying the 300 limit...to me it’s a convenient excuse instead of saying they thought Lozano was bluffing that they had 300 on the table.

Let’s wait and see what happens over the next month. If it ends up with nothing more taking place, it will easily be the worst because they literally accomplished exactly the opposite of what they said they wanted to. As I said yesterday, would much rather see Avi than Alonso.

Let’s see how Cooper adjusts to the new era of baseball. I have my doubts he will adjust.

It hasn’t failed, but there’s been an enormously momentum stoppage with it. Between young guys sucking in the majors and injuries in the minors, the organization desperately needs progress.

Assuming they’re not lying about opt-outs, there clearly was something about Manny that made them not want to do it.

I do wonder just how much Manny’s “personality” scared the Sox. Could be why they didn’t want to do an opt-out, as they were nervous he wouldn’t try hard if he didn’t opt-out. KW saying he was a “solid kid” isn’t a glowing endorsement.

I’m having a hard time blaming any of the insiders for relaying the Sox would get Manny. It’s clear they thought they would get him also, and most of the insiders on here said 7/175 was bogus. I don’t recall anyone saying it was a done deal.

He told every team that he met with exactly what they wanted to hear. Harper wants to go to a winning team with prestige. The Sox never had a shot with him.

No, there were 2 teams coming into the offseason ready to spend. Padres only jumped in cause Sox were playing not to lose.
