yep, he's a utility player who's being forced to play every day and doesn't get on base enough to get so many at bats early in the count. Obviously he's a great person, but I can't wait to have a legit 3rd baseman.

Covey's breaking pitches are not very good. For someone with a good sinker, he gets burned far too often with his mediocre offspeed stuff.

That was inexcusable defense all around there. Covey had nothing on his pitches today anyways.

I think he's more like the 6th best player on a contending team. Definitely starter material, but his contact has been weird this year. Seems like his hard hit balls have been homers and not a lot of gappers at all. Huge red flags with his inability to walk over the last 125 or so at bats, but he's getting some cheap hits of late to thankfully keep him afloat. Defense has been way better of late.
