Better start focusing on himself, as he’s going to be out of baseball in a few years if he keeps playing like this.

It reminds me so much of the Jacob Gonzalez pick. See the guy play for a week and you see they are lacking in necessary ability.

No doubt in my mind the organization is in a worst spot today than when Getz took over. Biggest reason is lack of upside prospects retained for Cease and the tanking of so many prospects.

It was a universally panned trade by almost all baseball writers, and that was before Vargas performed as the worst player in baseball. His batted ball metrics make it very unlikely he amounts to anything.

But none of this explains the horrible trade deadline he just had.

It’s so much more entertaining to watch when the pitcher isn’t dominant and baseballs are getting hit all over. That main Texas kid is going to be a big time prospect.
