  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 07:26 PM) At the very least, would take Jimenez over Rutherford 10x over (though statements like this ... certainly could come back) Fwiw, in today's chat, KLaw said Rutherford isn't hitting anything hard this year
  2. I love the Mo St SS. Looked better than Burger to me
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 06:43 PM) The Braves, IMO, are the only team who has a great argument. They have Nos. 10, 23, 25, 33, 41, 42, 55, 72 & 76. Like I said earlier, either #1 or #2 at worst. KLaw said in chat it's likely Braves 1, Sox 2
  4. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 07:16 PM) The two teams just did a blockbuster together, yet fans still think this is a "thing" If I'm ok with it, everyone should be
  5. QUOTE (FT35 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 06:44 PM) Not to mention having the potential story line developing of "Cubs turned everything around when they got Quintana from the White Sox." If that happens, it will be nice having that little White Sox Brand reminder peppered into the Cubs late-season coverage. That would be bad publicity for the Sox
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:46 PM) Cubs not needing to offload any of their current 25 roster talent is a win for them. They are back in LatAm game where they performed well. Longterm I'd take Jimenez over happ, but they are getting quintana for next 2 years (at least) for their championship window. And there's also the looming possibility of them going after Harper
  7. Now I can watch Eloy highlights and not be jealous
  8. Q has always been a favorite. Now go suck for the Cubs and return to the Sox in four years
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:34 PM) Hahaha. I love you, Fathom. I love Eloy but Cease is such a wild card that one more solid guy would have been nice
  10. On the red line radio podcast, WSD said Sox talkingto Brewers, Braves and Cubs but also are deep in talks with Houston
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:40 AM) I can definitely see the latter 2 if the rumors are true about lower lewel spects. Law likes Albertos alot. So does Longenhagen
  12. QUOTE (Enscheff @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 05:26 AM) Almost all players have platoon splits. If he plays plus defense at 2B and posts an .800+ OPS, I don't care how the platoon advantages shake out. Further, the kid is 20 in AAA. He literally has never had a professional PA against a pitcher younger than him. If the biggest flaw a 20 year old in AAA has is the need to improve on a platoon split...I'll take it...he has time to work on things (assuming the Braves don't foolishly rush him to MLB). Well his stock seems to be plummeting because of this
  13. Yes Jimenez is considered a possible .300/30 guy in the majors. He has some exit velocities that rival Stanton and Judge.
  14. QUOTE (Enscheff @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:18 AM) As far as how readily folks seem to be to ship Albies off for Q, that is due mainly to prospect fatigue. Albies has been around for a while, and doesn't have much power. Chicks and casual fans dig the longball... Albies breaks his elbow to end last year, and comes back to a slow start this season as a 20 year old in AAA. Then the Braves acquire this shiny new toy in Demeritte. He hits a few HRs, and suddenly folks think he makes Albies expendable. Then the Braves promote a utility prospect named Camargo who proceeds to have a 100 good PAs fueled by an unsustainable BABIP, and now Albies is even more expendable. In 3 years, when Albies is Altuve with half the HR production, Braves fans will be glad they didn't trade their 4+ WAR guy at 2B in favor of keeping fringe prospects that profile as utility players. You aren't concerned about his ability to hit RHP?
  15. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:13 AM) Is an Albies, Maitian, and a pitcher or Acuna, Matian, and a pitcher out of the question for Q? Yes, as someone said earlier, not sure if the Braves trade Acuna for Q straight up
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:07 AM) It's a shame the Brewers just drafted Hiura. He reminded me so much of Happ in college. Pretty sure the first BA mock draft had Sox taking Happ, and IIRC had Sox taking Judge and Trout also
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 05:04 AM) I'm not a Candelario fan either... at all. Said that months ago when I was gushing over Ian Happ before he got called up. Yep Happ is a stud. Shockingly great athlete.
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:58 AM) Jimenez is legit. I'd be stoked to get him. Cease on the other hand is a question mark. Great stuff (throws 100+, great breaking ball, etc), but as fathom pointed out earlier, scouts have questioned if he's a starter long term. Plus, he's had TJS before. He's a good second piece, but risky. Cease should be 2-b as a prospect with a 2-a involved and I would be surprised if it's not Candelario (I'm not a fan)
  19. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:52 AM) Over Albies or acuna, Tucker, Torres, Rodgers? Acuna 1, Eloy 2
  20. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:45 AM) Sorry late to the party been working all day, so what did these tweet say. And the DanB guys Twitter says no pros are included so that means no Happ or Schwarber if he's legit. So probably Cease, Jimenez, Cadlareo, and who? And this is not a great package IMO Jimenez is definitely not the main piece I'd want out of those talked about. Just interested in hearing what led to this Cubs hype? As a main piece, Eloy is about as good as you could hope for
  21. QUOTE (Username @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:24 AM) LOL you know we're desperate when a random reddit thread actually has me on edge. Some guy connected to the Red Sox leaked the Sale package exactly, about 5 hours before it happened. I couldn't believe my eyes. Ever since then I get roped in so easily. But that guy had also broke the Red Sox/Brewers trade the day before
