  1. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:49 PM) Biggest disappointment since 2011 Dunn. Sounds bad but I never saw this coming, He looks nothing like his old self right now. Reminds me a bit of Puig. Come into the league as an absolute beast, and then never make the adjustments to the league while your bat speed disappears.
  2. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:48 PM) I don't blame Ventura for hitting Sands there since the bench is limited. I blame Robin (and Hahn) for allowing Sands to still be the 25th man +1...he truly has no purpose on the team as long as Avi is healthy
  3. Just an awful player this season (Abreu). Going on almost 2 full weeks without an RBI. How hard is it to put Melky 2nd and leave him there! Abreu is 174th out of 180 players in terms of fWAR this year.
  4. Eaton has been just atrocious the last few weeks. Either a strike out or ground out it seems. Average down to almost .270
  5. That was just ridiculous. Sands against a righty who throws a lot of fastballs. This bench construction has made no sense all year.
  6. QUOTE (Chris Sale @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:36 PM) One thing you have to give Ventura some credit for are these defensive shifts. They have been positioned quite well today, and have probably saved a few runs through these double plays. Have been all season....just KC swings a magic wand.
  7. QUOTE (Chris Sale @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:33 PM) Ok, that was just pathetic. Fourth leadoff walk, second walk to the pitcher. Come the f*** on. it's all part of his plan
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:31 PM) So are we just going to ignore the fact that everyone in baseball struggles to hit Degrom? He's one of the best pitchers in baseball. He's a top pitcher, but his velocity isn't even that great today (92-93). Seen way too many struggles by the Sox this year catching up to low 90s fastballs. Today's game plan is quite strange, as they've taken a ton of fastballs to get behind in the count. He's going to easily have his best K performance of the season today at this rate.
  9. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:29 PM) At least he's up near 80 pitches. He'll get 7 at this rate and then Reed/Familia
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) Both can win the game, I've never understood the hate for homeruns some people have. And those two scenarios are not the same. 99% of the time bunting is not a good idea, but swinging at 3-0 is often a good idea, because pitchers often throw meatballs right down the middle to avoid the walk (see EJ's last start against the Indians for a great example). If you get a great pitch to hit on that count, swing away. It's much more important for the Sox season to have Abreu get confidence than it is for him to draw a walk in the middle innings.
  11. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:20 PM) Pitching has done it's part today....come on bats let's get it going Offense once again struggling to hit fastballs. Almost wish we'd have more guess hitters on the team and cheat on the pitch more.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) Why not? Yeah, I would do that move in a heartbeat.
  13. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:15 PM) I'm not really against the idea of a complete rebuild when necessary, the problem I have with it is that all the advocates for it assume it will be a success. For every successful rebuild there's one that completely fails. There's a good chance we end up like the Twins, throwing away several seasons on a rebuild and then still being bad. And what have we seen over the last 2 decades that gives anyone faith the Sox organization can develop young players to be successful (specifically on offense). Before this team decides to rebuild, I'd really like to see what a competent manager could do with the trio of Sale, Q and Rodon
  14. QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:14 PM) So many of his decisions are so amazingly dense that they defy explanation. Probably thought #2 hitter is supposed to be a base stealer.
  15. Why run with Frazier up? Not like he's a big double play threat, as he's been a homer, pop up or strike out candidate of late.
  16. Swing the bat! Sox just took 6 fastballs for strikes that inning.
  17. Sox are taking too many fastballs for strikes so far. Need to be more aggressive with DeGrom.
  18. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:49 PM) I think I'd rather have Gonzalez in the rotation than Latos at this point. You know I agree with that, but can't see it happening.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) I hope Ranaudo turns out to be something for this rotation. Gut feeling is the replacement for Gonzalez comes outside the org
  20. Gonzalez throwing too many pitches out of the zone considering his mediocre stuff.
  21. QUOTE (Coach @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) Also, if I am not mistaken, during the KC debacle last weekend, didn't Abreu swing on a 3-0 count? If the man is not hitting, why the green light? It would take at least 3 more pitches to get him out. Disagree, let him swing 3-0 and get a meatball and hopefully he bombs one and gets some confidence.
  22. Nice magic act by Gonzalez
  23. Way to be ready Gonzalez
  24. Anyone know who Frankie Piliere is linking them to? He's been great at getting drafting insight the last 5 years or so.
