Really hoping that Lopez ends up not pitching and is on his way to Chicago for a start with the White Sox on Thursday. I think he has earned it and I don't know how much he has left to prove.

Fun to see Kopech and Dunning as well going tonight. Always look forward to bouncing back and forth checking out the games on the MiLB app.

Why throw Lopez into the fire against the Cubs in front of a packed stadium?

Let him pitch today in AAA and bring him up Monday/Tuesday for a start against the Jays.

Lopez pitched in the postseason.

McCarthy debuted against the Cubs, and he's been in the big leagues for 13 years.

Okay, I'm not saying a bad start will lead to a wasted career...I just don't see the logic in throwing him in such an atmosphere. Teams often bring up prospects when the team is on the road instead of at home to let them get their feet wet when the atmosphere isn't as intense. Monday or Tuesday will have a quiet 20,000 fans instead of a crazy 40,000 tomorrow night.

Would make more sense to bring him up after tonight's game in Charlotte, let him experience the game and the stadium tomorrow night. Throw a bullpen with Coop on Saturday and then let him start on Monday.

Sounds like Lopez is starting tonight, but Hahn is hinting a promotion is coming.

Lopez with 6 K's through three. Hopefully he keeps it up and this is his last start.

Zavala with a three run HR. Dude has been insane at Winston-Salem so far. When does he finally get some attention from the prospect gurus?

Seby seems too good for A ball.

Also, does anyone think the picture of Collins on the WS site make him look a lot like Hamilton "the great hambino" Porter?

Seriously this is crazy

Lopez had a rough 4th, but strong pitching performances across the board so far:

Lopez: 4 IP, 2 R, 7 K, 1 BB, 3 H, 1 HR, 49/69 strikes

Kopech: 3 IP, 1 R, 6 K, 2 BB, 1 H, 0 HR, 39/66 strikes

Dunning: 5 IP, 0 R, 3 K, 0 BB, 5 H, 0 HR, 44/62 strikes

Jimenez already 2-3, R, RBI

He has similar eyes. Needs to start hitting like him.

Jimenez needs to be in AA and Lopez needs to be in Chicago.

Ha, no s***. Show mercy on our affiliate fans down in Birmingham. They've seen enough of Hawkins, don't ya think?

Awesome pitching tonight!

Kopech with 12 SO's through 6. Wow.

Two straight gems

107 pitches. 70 for strikes.

What a night for the pitching studs.

Kopech really is something else. Looking forward to seeing him in Chicago next year.

No kidding. Good lord that puts a smile on my face.

Don't forget Dunning -- 7 scoresless. 6 hits, one walk, 6 Ks.

All of these fantastic pitching performances really gives you hope for the future rotation. If they can continue this success in the majors, a rotation of Kopech, Lopez, Dunning, a healthy and successful Rodon, should be very fun to watch.

Great to see Kopech finishing the year strong. Give him two more starts to hit 110 innings and let him rest his arm for the rest of the year.
