Perfect statement by Kenny....or is this a Hahn move

Ken Rosenthal 1 min · Just talked to #White Sox president Ken Williams. Here is what he told me about LaRoche: "There has been no policy change with regards to allowance of kids in the clubhouse, on the field, the back fields during spring training. This young man that we're talking about, Drake, everyone loves this young man. In no way do I want this to be about him. "I asked Adam, said, 'Listen, our focus, our interest, our desire this year is to make sure we give ourselves every opportunity to focus on a daily basis on getting better. All I'm asking you to do with regard to bringing your kid to the ballpark is dial it back.' "I don't think he should be here 100 percent of the time - and he has been here 100 percent, every day, in the clubhouse. I said that I don't even think he should be here 50 percent of the time. Figure it out, somewhere in between. "We all think his kid is a great young man. I just felt it should not be every day, that's all. You tell me, where in this country can you bring your child to work every day?"

Besides for playing time, the Sox can now offer Morneau two lockers

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) David Haugh 4 mins · Twitter · If Adam LaRoche indeed retired from #WhiteSox cuz team said he couldn't have teenage son around anymore, he was looking for reason to leave. So far, all the major Chicago media personalities are backing up the Sox
-
Funniest thing is non-Sox fans on twitter that think the Sox are gonna be worse cause he's gone
-
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 2m2 minutes ago Source: LaRoche told #WhiteSox yesterday he would take a “couple of days” before making final decision on retirement. Not a chance in hell he should return now

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:17 PM) Here is a question. If LaRoche hit 25 bombs last season, does Williams have this conversation.. Nope, but maybe they feel he was distracted last year
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 06:55 PM) If this is all true, hopefully the Sox have learned a valuable lesson going forward. Yep, don't sign Antonio Cromartie
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:50 PM) Your kid sit with you at work all day? No, but that he would only stay in the sport if he could spend as much time as possible with his son.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) I could understand why a bunch of new players with big personalities wouldn't want a kid in the clubhouse though. I wouldn't want my kids growing up around Lawrie and Latos either
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:35 PM) This is what it sounds like. Kovacevic basically confirmed on twitter. They told him his kid couldn't be in the clubhouse anymore. Good for them if true. There is no reason for that kid to be in the clubhouse. Sounds like the kid was extremely professional and well-behaved, but I don't disagree with the decision.
-
QUOTE (Dunt @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:33 PM) So he retired b/c they wouldn't let his kid in the clubhouse. Lol. Wow. To his credit, I understand completely. He's said for a while now how having his son travel with him is so special.

B&B have no idea what the issue being hinted at is
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 06:24 PM) i think for lack of anything else as of right now, this is the possible answer. Nope, union would never allow it
-
Saw this guess on Twitter and could fit the hints, but what if the Sox changed their policy regarding family members in the clubhouse?
-
All these explanations seem too simple. Thinking it was something more complex.
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 12:53 AM) Rongey's on the Score right now, says he's hearing that LaRoche just doesn't want to play baseball anymore. This sounds about right and if that's the case I really hope he sticks to his decision. Yep, looked like he stopped having no fun last year. Good news is that it doesn't sound like it's anything relating to bad family/health issues.

I do wonder what the mood on here will be like if LaRoche changes his mind

Adam LaRoche @e3laroche 5m5 minutes ago Thank u Lord for the game of baseball and for giving me way more than I ever deserved! #FamilyFirst
-
QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 09:41 PM) I know it's kind of silly but this was my thought. This board is really going to go after Avi this year without LaRoche around. No way, it's all Danks this year

Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 7m7 minutes ago Hahn on having $13M more in the till: 'It opens up possibility that we have more flexibility in coming weeks or months up to deadline' Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 9m9 minutes ago Hahn 'Wont leave any stone unturned if we need to go outside org to get better. We haven't spent lot of time going thru alternatives' Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 10m10 minutes ago Hahn said LaRoche's back was progressing. Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 12m12 minutes ago Hahn: May provide opps for guys we have now or for opps down road to make acquisitions outside org, whether in spring or up to deadline

Eaton is not very good at stealing bases
-
The articles from a few weeks ago with LaRoche said he'd only quit if he felt his faith was telling him to.
-
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 07:43 PM) I would imagine Avi goes to left and Melky is DH I think Eaton's in LF a majority of the time due to the shorter throw
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) You are correct, he started 37 games at 1b in 2014 and played there 83 during his big league career. So he's the obvious backup 1b, with Lawrie moving to 3b if Abreu needs time off or at DH. This opens up a roster spot, pending other moves, for either Sanchez or for Sands. It has to be another lefty bat, IMO
