  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:16 PM) But there is KW saying the team bonded in their support of him against KW. If it was players who drove KW to this, that's another lie. you really expect to hear KW say "it was great to see 49 of the 50 players bond in the clubhouse". The player(s) that went to KW pretty clearly wants to remain anonymous.
  2. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:14 PM) So... Is there any sort of concern that this carries over into the season & comes a breaking point to a complete s*** show? I don't see how there isn't at this point. There needs to be a resolution on the situation by LaRoche, followed by some massive damage control by management with the clubhouse.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:12 PM) It is not clear players have an issue with him. The facts seem to indicate the opposite. There's never going to be the smoking gun that you want, which is a player(s) admitting they told KW it was a distraction to either them or to LaRoche.
  4. I bet Konerko had no idea what he was getting into yesterday when he spoke with the team.
  5. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:05 PM) And that shows the difference between claiming you're a good father and actually being a good father. A good father would say what he wants to say behind closed doors and keep his kid out of the controversy. Sure seems like he's trying to take Kenny down with him. How about LaRoche retires, KW quits and all is well!!
  6. QUOTE (Doc Edwards Shot @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:04 PM) I haven't found any evidence that other players in the clubhouse didn't want the kid there. Two Score personalities have mentioned it now. It will never be confirmed though.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 05:00 PM) He did go somewhere else. Its not like he's suing them. Give it time
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 04:56 PM) Also doesn't do errands, clean up and help out. It is strange the team reaction is so strong when this LaRoche kid was nothing but a pain in the ass. Why didn't you tell us what a nuisance Drake LaRoche was last season? Why isn't everyone saying what an idiot Chris Sale is for being pissed off about it? Another day, another Sale eruption. You can like an athlete without particularly caring for how they act in the media.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 05:54 PM) Right, so hes around under 50% of the time, or otherwise what LaRoche was offered so did the Sox tell Hawk they only want him there 50% of the time
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 04:51 PM) He has his kid out there all the time. Even brings him to press conferences, which I guess is considered cute and not annoying to the press. Doesn't participate in team drills or travel with the team, I'm sure
  11. QUOTE (Baron @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) I remember people yesterday asking if John Danks had a kid they could ban so he would retire Sad yet funny They banned his brother and he still returned
  12. If Derrick said he is pro-LaRoche, it makes me feel even stronger the WSox made the right decision

  14. QUOTE (ChicagoHeel @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 04:41 PM) HAHA even ex WWE stars getting in on this, he even called Laroche a hero ! What a joke. CoachVerified account ‏@CMPunk Good for LaRoche. Coach ‏@CMPunk 57m57 minutes ago Blocking people who have a s*** opinion on a guy doing what's best for his family. LaRoche is a hero. Of all people, he would know about quitting
  15. Looks like LaRoche and company still going at it: E3 Meat Company ‏@E3Meat 1h1 hour ago Baseball is a game started by a father & son playing catch! @e3laroche #familyfirst He really needs to make a decision and then stop trying to win this argument in the media.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 05:12 PM) I'm not sure why anyone respects Kaplan's opinions. The guy is a tool and a Cubs homer to boot. Seems he talked to someone with the last name of LaRoche, as the story matches what Dave LaRoche said.
  17. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) Have you noticed that Kaplan did a complete about face? There are 2 or 3 videos on CSN, in which he is very vehemently critical of La Roche, and supportive of management. I wonder what caused the change of view? Those were before he talked to someone in the LaRoche camp
  18. So the game they almost boycotted was yesterday's and not Tuesday's (which took place after the meeting with LaRoche). This is a little more concerning. Also pretty pathetic that JR, KW and Hahn are going to meet next week to discuss clubhouse access for management. What a ridiculous situation. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/14993803...mp;sf22718540=1
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) Kaplan is a blowhard You know I love a fellow Cubs homer
  20. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) Exactly. LaRoche retires and walks away from $13M because he was told that his kid should be in the clubhouse less than 50% of the time, and the rest of the team refuses to go play baseball and earn their multi-million dollar contracts. It's just embarrassing. I have no idea how managers put up with this crap. It's not that hard to envision: 1) LaRoche is a well-respected veteran in the clubhouse 2) The players like have his son around 3) Big, bad KW decides to change a policy that was agreed upon with LaRoche when he signed 4) LaRoche, choosing family first, leaves 13 million on the table 5) Players support LaRoche over management, and want to boycott a game to show their support
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) To be honest, KW should have handled it because it appears KW ok-ed the situation in the first place. I dont think LaRoche asked Ventura if it was ok and if his kid could have a locker, it was very likely he asked Hahn and KW Kaplan said last night it was Hahn and Ventura who said it was fine last year
  22. QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 03:09 PM) you are still not getting it. Regardless if he is playing the kid is around all the time. The batboys and girls are not in the locker room. There is no change in the policy. Kids are still welcome. Unfortunately, the sox as most teams, assume that a player would not abuse the privilege of bringing kids in. He is not banned from the clubhouse. He just can't be there all the time. And the pro-LaRoche people are acting like he was given an ultimatum that it's either all the time or none of the time. I'm happy the Sox didn't say none of the time, because in theory that's something that could hurt them trying to attract players.
  23. Why are we not laughing more at Rabbit's tweet back to Chipper Jones last night? Brian Bilek ‏@BrianBilek_ Brian Bilek Retweeted Chipper Jones 3 marriages & a knocked up Hooters waitress in 2 decades. #FamilyFirst...except when you're eating wings & get horny
  24. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) Can someone give me a summary of the past 200 or so posts? Thanks in advance. And we have another person saying it was agreed upon when LaRoche signed that Drake could be in the clubhouse.
