  1. Those were some awful possessions down the stretch
  2. Theo wouldn't care it's Christmas
  3. Sox aren't getting Cargo. Merkin has mentioned a few times the Rockies are asking for Q in return
  4. Our Chuck and Merkin have been much more accurate than Hayes this offseason
  5. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 04:50 AM) I also wonder if Casey Close is using the Sox as leverage against the Royals. Not saying that's the case at all, but I wonder... Excellent point, it's something he's already done with Heyward and Greinke
  6. I really can't see Gordon agreeing to go to the Royals rival on Christmas Eve/Christmas
  7. Maybe his finger injury made it more difficult to sit back on a lefty changeup
  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 02:55 AM) It would be such a White Sox move to pay Gordon $100+ million based on his past performances only for it to blow up in their face. How could it be such a Sox move if they have never given a 9 figure deal before
  9. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 01:53 AM) Better not be the Sox if someone goes 5 years at $20M AAV. It's fine with me if they do. It's the way free agency is these days.
  10. John Jaso signs with Pirates....unless Baltimore/Milwaukee gets desperate, it looks like LaRoche is staying here
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) Upton would frustrate fans way more. Strikeout streaky power hitter. Who also "appears" to be lazy as hell when he's slumping
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) Responding to just these parts of your quote- Upton and Cespedes don't rely on speed as much as Gordon does (defensively). Gordon has 67 home runs both at Kaufmann and away from Kaufmann in his career. That's with 10 more games on the road for his career. Gordon's great because he has fantastic instincts, not because he's Billy Hamilton out there
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 09:24 PM) I just have a feeling that Cespedes would frustrate us more often than not. I feel like Upton would frustrate us more, to be honest.
  14. QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 06:28 PM) Just spitballing, the Brewers look like a very slim maybe, and they might be your best shot, again, short of an injury that leaves some team scrambling to fill a spot. I'm just obsessing over keeping Melky out of right field if Gordon comes over, and trying to figure out a way to open up that specific roster spot. If Davis goes to the Orioles, then Alvarez almost definitely goes to Brewers
  15. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 05:20 PM) Do you guys read into the fact Gordon's market was relatively quiet all offseason, probably because it was assumed he would just resign with KC. But now we are hearing about the Wsox being interested, it just leads me to think Gordon and the KC FO couldn't agree on his worth or what the team was willing to pay, so his agent reopened talks. Again this could all be leverage but don't discount the fact of KC was low balling him with the hopes of a hometown discount that Gordon doesn't feel slighted by the fact they aren't willing to pay more. At the end of the day these guys are competitors and he would be foolish to turn down a larger contract in what will be his first big pay day, and what could be his last with his age. Up until a few days ago, I thought there was no way Gordon was going back to KC. Cardinals/Cubs/Giants/Angels seemed like best fits.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 06:09 PM) Sounds like this Royals person is somewhat connected. Yep, this makes me think Gordon goes back to KC
  17. Good news is that they have enough money available to at least be considering Gordon.
  18. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 04:33 PM) Would De Aza start for the Mets or is that a 4th OF signing? Platoon with Lagares....Mets are out on Cespedes
  19. Wonder if this allows them to trade Gonzales, Adams and more for Cargo
  20. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 03:25 AM) I can't stand listening to Stacey when this team is bad, especially when he does interviews on ESPN 1000. It's ok being a homer, but he takes it to a whole other level. Hawk-esque?
