  1. This is incredible if true, as you get Frazier without giving up Anderson, Fulmer or Rodon. We all knew Micah Johnson had no future with the Sox, and Montas is sure more likely to be a reliever.
  2. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) Don't like giving up Trace.. Great job of cashing in when value is high
  3. If they get Ethier and Fraizer for Montas/Micah/Trayce, that's a heck of a deal
  4. He's getting 78 million for first three years....holy overpay
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 04:05 AM) Why can't the Sox realize it's time to acquire Frazier to go with Lawrie? We need Frazier and re-sign Lexi for 5 mill a year for 2 years. Or one year and an option. And by all means open the wallet and sign an outfielder. The Cubs just signed Zobrist, Lackey and Heyward to go with all those young guys. Sure their pitching might suck, but that's a possible WS contender. This is competition, baby. There are 2 teams in this city and one is on fire in terms of fan interest and MEDIA drooling. Sox are not going to get fans to show up to watch the defensive dandies Saladino and Sanchez work their magic at ss and 2B. Barring some unforeseen turnaround, the Sox will blow. But you add Frazier and a name outfielder ... kaching at the cash register. Sox fans will sign up cause we got electric pitchers in Sale, Q and potentially some others! What is Hahn waiting for?? Yes it's $$$ to spend, but do they have an option? It's either spend $$$ or look at 15,000 to 25,000 fans a game all season cept when Cubs and Yanquis come to town. Danks is good and Cubs pitching sucks....umm
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) Geeze...Dodgers have stood pat (and really got worse with the loss of Greinke) while Dbacks and Giants have aggressively made moves. Tough division. A year ago Pads failed but went aggressive too. Everyone in that division (but Rocks) seems to want it. Amazing how bad the Dodgers personnel decisions have been going back to last year's trade deadline.
  7. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) Definitely. to play devils advocate, if he didn't struggle in the 2nd half, we're talking about an MVP candidate and someone that would require Rodon to get. I've made mention of this before, but I think part of the reason he struggled in the 2nd half was due to the Reds fielding about 5 MLB caliber players and the rest being a minor league team. There wasn't a lot of emotion in their games.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 07:13 PM) anthony fenech ‏@anthonyfenech 47m47 minutes ago Agents have heard things about Alex Gordon, but nothing about Yoenis Cespedes. Some think the Tigers are still lurking. That would give the Tigers quite the offseason
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 07:01 PM) One rumor is the Cardinals are offering Gordon around $80-90 million for five years. Everything I've heard says they're not interested
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 06:47 PM) He is an interesting candidate to see what would happen if was playing every day again. Platoon him with Trayce
  11. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 06:06 PM) for me, dee gordon miami. He would cost both Anderson and Fulmer, and likely more
  12. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 04:08 PM) For some reason I keep picturing him as an Indian, but I have no idea if they even match up in trade. They do as they are supposedly willing to give up Zimmer or Frazier
  13. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) Not surprised that he won, but he was nowhere near the best player in the country. I'd have voted McCaffrey first and Reynolds second. Why Reynolds over Watson?
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 04:57 AM) Finally some actual character development for Reigns. Great stuff. Hopefully helps him get some crowd reaction. Great stuff by Reigns
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 04:35 AM) Crowd s***ting on the main event Never heard a main event intro where both guys were booed with such low intensity like that
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 04:12 AM) I really liked the Puig idea for a while, and it still intrigues me, but I think he has one too many red flags attached at this point, plus his injury history. He seems like just a horrible teammate. Also think his skills have already diminished.
  17. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 02:47 AM) There has been a few of us that have been saying we don't expect alot due to the payroll, bad contracts ( LaRoche/ Danks/Melky) and a farm that doesn't have enough disposable talent for trades. I hope were wrong but I would not be in the least bit surprised if what Hayes says turns out to be true. Hahn should have probably not mentioned how bad the offense was then. His job should be on the line also this year, IMO. As currently constructed, the Sox are in the bottom 3 of the AL with Oakland and Tampa.
  18. Dan Hayes on Twitter tonight saying the Sox could be done adding if trade prices don't go down. Absolutely inexcusable if this is true, but I doubt it is. Hahn can't bash our offense like he did last week (after Lawrie) and turn around and do nothing to help it
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 01:35 AM) Draft picks should be of the least concern if you're dishing out 150 million dollars. Hayes and Merkin tweet every day it seems like that the Sox won't go after someone with QO.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 12:27 AM) Last time Merkin said that, our own RaBBit & Nightengale mentioned that the Sox are/were interested in Upton. Nightingale hasn't mentioned the Sox since in connection with Upton
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 09:01 PM) I came here specifically to post this. The asshole is the reason we won't make the playoffs this year. Special teams all around for the Bears has been a disaster
