  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 12:04 AM) Dodgers fans seem to think is the start of a bigger deal. Makes sense. Would love to get involved in a 3 way again with them and grab Puig. Hell no to Puig...just seems like someone that's too much of a team cancer.
  2. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 12:08 AM) I should know better than to read these threads, nothing but unfounded negativity. I am absolutely fired up about this trade and there is more on the horizon. The Sox are gonna be nasty this season. It's truly amazing to me how anyone could be down about this trade. Most who don't like it believe Trayce will turn into a superstar or that Frazier will turn into Josh Fields.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) Can you find my actual post on Rodon for Frazier? I'll man up to it if I said it but my posts get turned around ALOT on here and I don't remember ever making a proposal for Frazier officially. Like fathom said if Ethier had also been in this deal I'd have been very happy with it. I just think we ALWAYS overpay. I'm happier Ethier ISN'T in the deal
  4. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) 3 top 50 picks should help. Even 2 in the top 50 to add a couple high upside players to Fulmer/Anderson should be helpful. Plus, how many of those guys were top 15 prospects? Not very often I would imagine a team cares about adding the 18th ranked prospect in a system... so these guys aren't a major loss, IMO. I love this post so much
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 08:16 PM) For the record, I like the trade. But just to keep something in mind, look at this list: Frankie Montas (TRADED) Micah Johnson (TRADED) Trayce Thompson (TRADED) Tyler Saladino (GRADUATED) Zack Erwin (TRADED) Myles Jaye (TRADED) Yency Almonte (TRADED) JB Wendelken (TRADED) Junior Guerra (CLAIM) Those are all prospects that were either in the summer Top 30, or were likely to become that in January (in Almonte's case), all of whom the team has lost in a few weeks. Just pointing out that, this Frazier deal was good, but in exchange the team has taken a pretty big bite out of the system. They kept the top two in Anderson and Fulmer, but beyond that, an already not-fantastic list is much thinner now. And after the upcoming draft, we will have three prospects that should be top 15 off the bat.
  6. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 28s28 seconds ago Can the White Sox get into the Upton/Cespedes/Gordon sweepstakes? Hahn said "We shall see."
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 45s45 seconds ago The #WhiteSox still looking to upgrade the lineup,GM Rick Hahn says, and could be in market for splashy free agent such as Upton or Cespedes. AWESOME
  8. He'll be a pain vs the Sox due to his LHP hitting ability
  9. David Haugh ‏@DavidHaugh 3m3 minutes ago Jose Abreu's reaction to White Sox trade for Todd Frazier, in English from El Floridita: "He's a good player who can hit. I love it."
  10. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 06:53 PM) This trade sucks Must be quoting a Reds fan
  11. I wonder if we hear Hawk say "the strong arm of Lawrie" on every double play
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 06:10 PM) If the Warriors don't win the NBA championship this past year, I'm not sure this deal gets done as is. Probably Trayce's most valuable asset to is his name value. Agree, just like how Samardzija would be less hyped if he played at New Mexico
  13. Monumental improvements at 2b and 3b going into next year. Let's get Raburn now to platoon with LaRoche
  14. Shocked that Kaplan thinks the price was steep. I'm sure he's mad he can't mention the Cubs on his show all day.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 05:57 PM) At the very worst if he does fall apart he's still a plus defender which we couldn't say about the others. And if the Sox tank this year, they have a valuable trade chip. People act like he is a FAafter the year.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) Montas had 20 ks in 15 innings for the White Sox. That doesn't scream lack of deception. Seemed like most of them were on his slider, which to me was a better pitch than his fastball. As a starter though, he would struggle with only two pitches. Definite late-inning reliever to me.
  17. Frazier for those 3 guys seems like a trade proposal we'd make on here and everyone would say the Reds wouldn't do that
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 06:33 PM) The Sox farm system just went down a couple of pegs. I really liked Micah and Montas who was throwing 100 at a game I was at. Trayce is overrated but would be a great 4th OF. 3 picks in top 50 should replenish that with ease. As for Montas, he seems like the type of guy who throws hard but isn't very deceptive with his fastball
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 05:29 PM) So is Sanchez the starting SS right now, or Saladino, or a platoon? Saladino, easily
  20. The Reds should have just taken the 3 Sox players instead of the Dodgers' guys
  21. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 05:25 PM) Boy they sure were quick to sell high on Thompson but low on Micah and Montas. Don't really get this move personally but we'll see how it shakes down. Don't like giving up Thompson love his bloodlines and production but he might never be more than a decent 4th OF. Micah Johnson's defensive stats last year killed him being a "top" trade chip
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 05:23 PM) I think Frazier is all the Sox received. Unless the Sox go all in and get Upton or Cespedes, I do not like the deal. If they do, OK. To me, it's a great job of selling those 3 guys while they have good value.
