  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 10:25 PM) Is that a good idea? I don't think they want to platoon Holliday and Adams They seemed to have lost some faith in Adams. Wouldn't shock me if he's dealt to the Rockies with Marco Gonzales for Cargo
  2. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) What does it mean that Holliday is getting time at 1B now? Is St. Louis having some kind of winter training camp? I read something that said he's practicing grounders at a 1B wherever he's training, but it's a big deal because he refused to consider this in the past. Considering how bad his defense is and the available outfielders, it makes all the sense in the world (especially with his bad legs)
  3. I know someone earlier mentioned the news that Holliday is getting reps at 1B now. To me, that's a great idea for the Cardinals. However, I think that instead of going after Gordon, they'll make a trade for Cargo
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 02:53 AM) He was Jeter's agent too, right? The guy has an almost impeccable reputation compared to some agents. Greinke and Heyward also. His family will get nice gifts for the holidays
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:58 AM) I just don't see how you can start by saying how consistent Upton is, and then cite one of his consistent stats and call it a red flag I wasn't the one who said he was consistent.
  6. QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:56 AM) You might have a different perspective, after viewing this chart and graph: http://www.hittrackeronline.com/detail.php...amp;type=hitter There actually were not very many "cheap" homers. Perhaps you just happened to see videos of the few that were not legitimate "bombs". That's 2014
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:53 AM) One less double, one more triple, and 6 less homers. I mean if you want to nitpick, whatever, but the guy still mashed. The cheapie home run stat is pretty lame Putting Laroche and Abreu on the same "falloff" plane using the cheapie home run stat is equally as lame Only reason I remember it is because one of the preseason magazines that has a unique stat for every team had the "lucky" homer top 5 for the Sox, since LaRoche and Abreu were 1-2. This stat was less about Abreu and more about a potential red flag with Upton.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:49 AM) Doesn't seem like it was a good indicator for abreu, the guy just completed back to back seasons that only Pujols matched Pretty decent drop in power though for him last year
  9. I started watching some Upton highlights from last year and something jumped off the screen to me...he hit a ton of cheap homers. I looked up the stats and he was near the top of the list for lucky/cheap homers. This was one of the warning signs that people had regarding LaRoche and Abreu after 2014. Upton's average home run distance was 10 feet less in 2015 than 2014. He's a good player, but his power is his main tool and if that starts to fade, you're looking at a bad contract possibly.
  10. Levine getting ripped on twitter for being wrong about this tweet: Bruce Levine ‏@MLBBruceLevine 2h2 hours ago White Sox smartly held off sending out season ticket renewals until big addition of Frazier .
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 18, 2015 -> 12:20 AM) Bob Nightengale on MLBN just said Sox are perfect landing spot for Justin Upton. Just spent a couple minutes talking about it. Did he mention other teams that might be involved with Upton?
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) Kyle Murray, QB Texas A&M, is quitting football, transferring to a JuCo, and will play baseball, looking to get drafted next year. I believe he is a MI Headcase
  13. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) You're kidding,...right? Damn, I saw you posted and was hoping for some scoop
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 10:11 PM) Baez and Soler for Gray. Can't see the A's saying no to that haul Maybe if they add Schwarber to that package
  15. Amazing how bitter the Score seems towards the Sox today. Even the Score updates are finding a way to highlight "how much" the Sox gave up for Frazier. I have a feeling things are going to get ugly between the franchise and the Cubbie Radio Network
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) well goddamn. im used to the previous years where he .200, .272, .171. Although he only had 200 ABs last year Yeah, he was sensational last year. Pretty sure he was 4th in the majors in OPS vs LHP
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 05:50 PM) I would rather not have 2 guys at DH that hit around the mendoza line last season Raburn hit over .300 last year
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 05:32 PM) He's definitely better in RF than 2b...he won't kill you like a Murphy or Avi/Viciedo, but he has been slipping. He had a worse year defensively last year than Murphy ever has.
  19. When the Cubs signed Zobrist, did anyone mention his defense dropped by 25.9 dWAR. Of course not
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 06:06 PM) Celebrate all you want, but the most important part of the offseason is whether or not JR will open the wallet on Upton, Gordon or Cespedes. Couldn't disagree more. Most important part was acquiring MLB talent without giving up Anderson/Fulmer/Rodon/Quintana. I still wonder just how the Sox were able to get Frazier with what they gave up/Dodgers gave up. Supposedly the night before, the Reds were asking for either Danny Salazar or a package of C. Frazier, Zimmer and more. If the Cubs or KC made this deal, you would be upset that Hahn wasn't able to.
  21. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 06:11 PM) I'll listen later but wow sounds like an underwhelming interview. That station sucks. Always turns into a Cubs discussion and the guys sound so clueless. Just seems like everyone on the station feels only way to be successful is via complete tanking/rebuilding.
  22. Can Raburn play the outfield defensively anymore? If so, I'd love a Parra/Raburn RF platoon.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 17, 2015 -> 05:58 PM) Doesn't Span have a hip problem? Yes, supposedly healthy now but still a risk
