  1. To me, a monster trade of Baez and others (Almora, Vogelbach, P. Johnson) for David Price makes a lot of sense for both teams. Price has hinted he'd be interested in pitching for the Cubs, so an extension might work out.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 09:18 PM) It will be something like Beckham for Smoak/Montero/Ackley to attempt to save face for both organizations. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on any of those 3 in return for Beckham, who's had just about the most chances of anyone in the Sox org.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 09:10 PM) They are literally moving him around to get him to hit. Nothing much else there. I'm all for Semien or Sanchez getting at bats once the deadline hits. Beckham has played himself into a DFA candidate.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 05:44 AM) Almora going to AA Tennessee. Soler going to AAA Iowa. That Iowa team is loaded. With Rizzo quickly turning into a superstar, the Cubs offensive potential in a few years is scary. If they were smart, they'd keep Alcantara at 2nd and keep Baez at SS and then trade him for a young pitcher.
  5. Out of town this week, so haven't been able to watch much. However, Beckham batting 2nd (one of the worst hitters in baseball over the last month or so) in front of Abreu is just crazy. Maybe it's a sign Micah Johnson will be up soon and batting 2nd? That's the only reason I can think of. Also, knowing the Sox luck with players performing prior to the deadline, Viciedo will probably be out for the next 10 days with this strain.
  6. Wilkins and Phegley are just ridiculous right now
  7. The Sox continue to intentionally walk hitters batting below .200
  8. An absolutely awful effort by Danks and Webb today against a horrible lineup.
  9. Great job by the bullpen tonight. Nice start to the 2nd half
  10. Wow, thought for sure Alexei got enough on that. Wind seems to be blowing in.
  11. Wow, hardest hit ball in months for Flowers. Very nice swing!
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 02:27 AM) Keep running out that door, Gordon. It's ridiculous how much he tries to pull the ball vs RHP.
  13. Tank has started to destroy hanging breaking pitches.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 03:09 AM) Unless it destroys him like it has done everyone else who has been in the closers role this year. To me, it's worth the risk instead of overpaying for a closer in the offseason if no one steps up.
  15. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 03:05 AM) Webb's last 4 outings, including tonight: 6.0 IP, 4H, 1ER, 0BB, 10K One of the best things that could happen the next few months is if he gets a chance to close.
  16. This umpire has been awful tonight. Eaton ejected
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 01:48 AM) I would like to wake up tomorrow and find out that at least a third of our starting lineup is no longer in Chicago. Yep, it's time for Beckham and Flowers to be gone. Both have been given plenty of chances with this organization.
  18. Mark Appel over Kris Bryant is looking worse and worse by the day. Bryant on pace for 57 homers over a 162 game season.
  19. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 01:42 AM) I just spent a hour looking up Cisco and he has a lot of fans out there, he puts up big numbers and although he transitioned to playing catcher during his senior year of high school after playing shortstop exclusively he has advanced skills behind the plate for someone his age. If I were Rick Hahn and engaging with Baltimore in trade talks, I would do everything in my power to get back Hunter Harvey or Kevin Gausmann, but for the sake of this trade lets try to get Hunter Harvey because he's 19 and its going to be a while before he reaches the bigs. I would send them Danks, and Beckham for both Sisco and Harvey. They wouldn't give up Harvey for Danks and Beckham. Also, Keith Law had this to say about Sisco Kevin (Baltimore) Did any other Orioles come close to cracking your list? Also, have you seen Chance Sisco recently? His numbers have been ridiculous. Klaw (2:28 PM) No, although Rodriguez would be on the top 100 again. Saw Sisco a few weeks ago. He can't catch. No idea where they'll put him.
  20. Wilkins is on fire, another homer
  21. Trey M. with his biggest slump of the year. He's now 3 for his last 32.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 02:12 AM) Tyler struck out. Crazy. The countdown is on until he's no longer with the Sox.
