  1. Ortiz was the most dangerous hitter Boston had that entire series. He had a lot of long, hard hit outs. I understand why they didn't IBB him there though.
  2. Still waiting for official statement from Sox
  3. Any updates on Hawkins
  4. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 11:18 PM) Glad we decided not to let Abreu hit there. Thanks Robin One of my biggest pet peeves is what happened that inning. I hate the bunt when it takes the bat out of your best hitter's hands.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 11:15 PM) still being generous How so?
  6. For someone with speed and no power, Leury Garcia striking out at a 32% clip is insane.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 10:13 PM) Corpsey. Not a lot of talent in the lineup for the Sox today. Only the first 5 guys deserve a spot in the majors.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 11:11 PM) Until Q quits having innings like this Sox, he is solid #3 starter at best. He's a #2 by almost every statistical formula.
  9. I can't recall the last time the Sox played the same catcher in all 4 games of a series. You would think Tyler Flowers was the greatest catcher ever to get as much playing time as he has. Oh well, Quintana has to get over his 6th inning, 3rd time through the order scuffles to become a star.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 10:54 PM) Why does Q have so much trouble in the 6th inning so many starts it's like clockwork? Are there two better pitches in baseball than him and Sale the first 4 innings?
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 10:54 PM) Now Cooper comes out. Wow. Ugh...should have been out a batter earlier.
  12. Beckham is just bad right now. Not even looking good against a LHP.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) The Reds need a 2B right? They were expected to take Beckham in the draft, but took Alonso instead.
  14. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) Good thing he's hitting second to flash his trade value then. Reds need a 2nd baseman now...make it happen Hahn!
  15. It's possible the Reds might need a 2nd baseman if Phillips' thumb injury is serious. Beckham would be a good fit there. Update: Phillips out 2 months with torn thumb ligament
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 07:30 PM) Pat Riley met with him in Vegas last night. How has no one tracked private jet flights from Vegas to cleveland today! This seems like a complete failure of this thread! He just got done scrimmaging at his camp, I believe.
  17. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 02:44 AM) So do we trade Viciedo for De La Rosa and Nava. That was last week's deal and now Hahn saw both first hand tonight. No way are they giving up De La Rosa for Viciedo. Thing is, seems like Boston is fully ready to become sellers.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 03:35 AM) The floor spacing, even without knowing what the rest of the roster would look like, would be insane. The outlet passes from Love to James would be unstoppable.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 12:31 AM) Hopefully they can announce the signing during the game tonight. Maybe somewhere around Chris' 10th strikeout of the game. Or Tyler's fourth. Whichever happens first. No way they'd announce tonight with the physical tomorrow (especially after the Aiken debacle).
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 02:28 AM) It's called rational thoughts. Not the irrational bulls*** spewed in these threads. I hope the last two winners threads were full of full credit to the entire coaching staff. It's funny, as I thought Ventura had a quicker hook than usual with Danks last night, and it made sense as Boston was hitting everything hard against him.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 02:25 AM) I didn't see that. Either did stone. My bad then. I thought 109 pitches or whatever made sense but I also thought our bullpen could cut through the hapless Red Sox too. Also my bad. I thought I saw him signal on the way out there. I was surprised, as I thought for sure he'd keep him out there. Oh well, this season has been full of great wins and heartbreaking losses. At least it's better than last year's boring season.
