All the damage done that inning on fastball calls that Flowers wanted inside. Q probably aiming to avoid hitting the guy

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 01:13 AM) Please don't crucify me for this, but does anyone think that Don Cooper isn't as good of a pitching coach as people make him out to be? He's become very overrated.

Hawks going to complain about the warning for rest of the game even though both pitchers deserved it

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 12:28 AM) I would seriously rather hear Stone interview Christine O'Reilly about White Sox community efforts for three hours than to hear Hawk talk about [insert player x] is [insert superlative]. World's greatest defensive outfield off to a bad start

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 10:23 PM) And before someone comes in here and says, "Oh if Beckham had his 3000 plate appearances with the *fill in random team* you would be excited." No I wouldn't. I would be saying the same thing. There is a significant sample size that says Gordon Beckham sucks against LHP and RHP equally. He has no power. He doesn't hit for average. He does not run well. If only we had a player who could do a couple of those things to be the RH half of the platoon... Oh but Beckham is great at defense? He is a guy who who has played 79 innings at 3B since Tiger Woods' wife put a 6 iron through his windshield and people talk about him like he's Brooks Robinson over there solely because Hahn has said he is a decent defender at 3B the days after he gave him a personal vote of confidence. Where else could he have embellished Beckham? Didn't Beckham grade out as the worst 3B in the majors last year? Thought I read that on here.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) Therein lies the problem. So they sign Bonifacio for 3.5-4 million to give his principal role to a player who is less effective at that role. I am not overreacting to this one lineup card as I have been grousing about this sign Beckham has been signed. Basically, the Sox sign Beckham to a role that could have been better served by players already in the organization to take the platoon spot of a player who the team values twice as much. Problem is with how awful Bonifacio looked defensively during ST, I'm sure it just played into their decision even more to give Beckham more time on the infield instead of him.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:51 PM) They see Bonafacio as a 4th outfielder that can play infield if necessity. And be the Sox version of Dyson off the bench late in games?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) Who starts more at 3B this year Beckham or Bonifacio because it sure seems like it's Beckham and that's stupid. Easily Beckham

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) It's been a thing in the past where you give everyone a start the first series just to get their feet wet at the beginning of the season. I'm sure Soto and Bonifacio will start tomorrow, and then they'll play the regulars at home, until Milone starts--then probably more Bexx. I'm sure balta is having awful flashbacks of seeing Mackowiak in CF in the 2nd game of 2006.

Arrieta is really fricking good. Amazing how much crisper his stuff/command is since leaving Baltimore.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) I have to say. I am really pissed at this lineup tonight. Is there no factoring in of timing and consistency to allow young guys like Johnson and Gillaspie to stay in rhythm? Conor was one of the only dangerous looking hitters in the first game. Conor can't hit LHP and Duffy dominated lefties last year. I'm fine with Beckham or Bonifacio playing over him today.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) Yes this is me overreacting but if Bonifacio isn't going to be playing against lefties then what a useless signing. Would have rather kept Viciedo and let him play vs LHP

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) #WhiteSox lineup for 4/8: Eaton 8, Cabrera 7, Abreu 3, A. Garcia 9, Ramirez 6, LaRoche DH, Beckham 5, Flowers 2, Sanchez 4. Quintana 1. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/585893493891080193 This doesn't seem like an especially strong lineup. I'm confused as to what Bonifacio's role on the team is going to be. With Duffy being incredible against lefties, it seems like LaRoche is going to have a hard time being productive.

flavum's calling card on this site is stating things in terms of numbers (games needed to win, etc). I'm a big fan of his, as he brings the big picture aspect to things.
