Indians vs Sox
QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 02:29 AM) How in the f*** does that stand?! This league is such a f***ing joke Dumbest rule ever. I thought that was the right call, regardless of the rule.

Better Future Core: Sox or Cubs?
Both are gonna be good in a few years. Arrieta should be added to the list. One thing Cubs have done is put together a solid bullpen, thanks in part due to getting Ramirez and Strop in trades.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 02:12 AM) Wow, nice Take Avi. Way to show Viciedo how the f*** it's done. No clue how he took that pitch, but it was a great AB

Indians vs Sox
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 12:39 AM) Yea, but in his defense it's basically his spring training again. No amount of rehab or AAA was going to change the fact that it's better to get this rust shaken off now then next April. That's the big positive. I've been very happy with his production since he returned. Maybe he was just guessing wrong in that AB

Some very awkward swings by Avi

2014 Cubs Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 08:49 PM) There's definitely a chance that Baez can be a complete bust but he's still ridiculously young too. Where I think Baez will be dangerous for the Cubs is that he projects to maybe be their 4th-6th best hitter. If you have guys like Rizzo and Bryant being OPS monsters, then having someone that you can rely on to hit 35 homers a year playing 2nd base could be very valuable.

At what point is this season not considered a success?
I think this season has been a nice building year for 2015 and there's no reason 2016 won't end up with the Sox contending. The biggest disappointments this year have been E. Johnson and Davidson going from core pieces to gigantic question marks, as well as the lack of non-core players performing well enough to bring back anything at the trade deadline. I will say that Rodon was the perfect draft pick for this team, given Sale and Abreu's peak years coming up.
-
It's about that time of the year again...
If the draft was held tonight, the Sox would be picking 8th (7th worst record, but Astros picking twice). The Twins choked that game away, or else the Sox would have been up to the 7th pick.

Another loss...once again, all the RBIs by guys who should be back next year.

Impressive by Cleto...might as well challenge him more the rest of the way.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 03:43 AM) JPINAC The way it's going, I'm not sure he can even be counted on as anything more than a long reliever next year. As I'm sure you can tell, I hate his offspeed stuff/lack of command.

QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 03:42 AM) #MarchToMatuella If the score holds, the Sox made up ANOTHER game on the Cubs, Red Sox, Phillies, Astros. Stupid Twins choked against KC

Petricka's been hit awfully hard for a while now. He's probably out of gas as well. He has horrible offspeed pitches, so that's something he needs to work on.

2014 Cubs Catch-All Thread
Matthew Pouliot @matthewpouliot 1h Javy Baez is now tied for 189th all-time (since 1914 anyway) with four 4-K games. As many as Mays, Bonds, A-Rod, Foxx, Killebrew and Rose.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 03:16 AM) Hooooboy. Also, I'm not sure he's as good a fielder as some seem to think, and De Aza is not as bad as some seem to think too. Certainly it doesn't come close to making up the difference between the bats. The only consistent thing about JorDanks hitting is that he's not good. He has significant holes in his swing.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 03:15 AM) What's wrong with the White Sox? This team is struggling big time. Has it run out of gas, especially the pitchers? Dropping games left and right of late. Avi baby with a double, though! You'll love hearing this, but they are not well-coached.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 03:14 AM) Like to see Avi's other tools we've heard about one of these days. He's hit for more power this year, even though short sample size. He's shown a solid hit tool, and has a good throwing arm. His defense is not good though.

Nice double by Avi, but come on, how stupid can this team play?

8/26 vs Indians
I disagree with that last run being earned, but oh well

Nice throw by Eaton there.

Haha, this team is playing so stupid. Q's ERA has skyrocketed of late.

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 03:05 AM) I was just thinking the same thing. They could have something special if they somehow find a way to get a #2 to also go with Q and Rodon next year.
-
8/26 vs Indians
I'd love to see them lessen Q's work load the rest of the way.

QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 01:49 AM) Thats why I don't think they move De Aza, he is a capable player and a great insurance policy for both Eaton and Avi Why is he insurance for Eaton when they don't like him playing CF?
