  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:13 AM) Over 32K in Detroit tonight. They're economy is garbage and their population is 1/9th the size of ours. BTW going into tonight they had the same record as ours. I didn't realize there's no school tomorrow in Detroit. Bring on more excuses. You can even ask Baron about this, but one of the biggest reasons I wanted the Sox to stay in contention all year was the hope attendance would be really strong down the stretch and lead to a higher payroll next year. It's disappointing, that's for sure.
  2. Konerko's bat toss was even nicer this at bat than last at bat! Just sit him down and let Johnson play.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:09 AM) Those players probably aren't coming back regardless, that's my point. It's not making any sort of statement. Who can they really get rid of to send a message?
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:06 AM) Embarrassing. One of the worst fan bases in the sport. I feel like the fans turned on this team after the sweep in Detroit, and really never returned. I know it coincides with school starting as well.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:05 AM) That could easily happen if this team wins the WS. That's NOT a teardown. That's cutting about 45 million dollars worth of players off your team
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:05 AM) FWIW, I'd easily keep Peavy at a fair price Heck no considering he'll want a multi-year deal probably in 2/32 or 3/45 range.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:04 AM) Lower bowl even full? Not even close. Probably not even 2/3 full
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:03 AM) Who goes? Peavy, Youk, Floyd and Thornton
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:01 AM) Rick Hahn...tear down this team. I'm confident he will
  10. Marson a better base runner than anyone on the Sox.
  11. Thornton just doesn't have the velocity to throw it past hitters. Terrible pitch there, especially after he was struggling throwing to that location all inning.
  12. Thornton's slider was a strike, not called
  13. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:53 AM) Beckham is hitting .279 with a .914 OPS in September. The 2 hole is only for 3rd baseman on this team. Youk is hitting .197 with a .671 OPS. Obviously the manager doesnt have access to ESPN or any website that can show him up to date stats. Youk's batting 2nd for his bunting ability
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 02:50 AM) 11th in the AL in September for runs scored. This is why we are tied with the Tigers more than anything else. +1000000000000000000000
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 02:49 AM) Don't these home games and home broadcasts have a funeral-like feel to them? No
  16. Youk swung at a horrible pitch there. A good foot inside likely.
  17. Major kudos to AJ for deciding to throw that ball to first
  18. Yes!! Thornton's throw looked like it was going over AJ's head
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:37 AM) His venom is only focused in areas like relief pitching and sometimes rookies. The entire offense could get 1 hit by all sorts of garbage and he wouldnt pop off. Get a rookie reliever to walk a guy and he groans and moans. He sounds like a southern Santo these days. He was so busy getting ready to complain about the walks by Jones that he didn't even bother really mentioning that the umpire was hosing him.
  20. Hey Robin, next time don't pitch relievers the next day after going 2 innings the day before. You do have Crain, Reed, Myers and Thornton still in the pen.
  21. That was another freaking strike
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) Fastball please Well placed change-up gets a 4-6-3
  23. Goodness...meltdown in progress
