  1. Ventura continues to kill this team.
  2. If you're going to bunt, might a well use Hudson here.
  3. He better not consider the bunt here!
  4. Youk, good time to hit a homer or draw a walk
  5. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 03:48 AM) The Sox aren't equipped to win games when their starter goes 5.2 innings. How do you figure? The addition of Veal has made it easier to use Thornton for a full inning if needed. As much as I'm disappointed in Peavy, this is all on the offense. Viciedo is clearly overmatched against RHP, but how about Konerko turn his season around and start performing like a #4 hitter and not a slappy #9 hitter?
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 02:47 AM) All I ask is that my manager doesn't go to the last guy in the bullpen when we are trailing 3-2 in the 8th in a huge game. Is there any possible justification for that? Well, he did pitch Omogrosso against Cabrera in a big spot last night. Thankfully Veal was lurking.
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 02:46 AM) Exactly, the pitching has been shaky this game, but it doesn't matter when the offense has disappeared. It would be nice for Peavy to step up and win a big game once though in a Sox jersey. He's done nothing to change the perception he has of being a terrible "big game pitcher".
  8. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 02:42 AM) f*** you very much Jake Peavy. Please don't say another thing this season. Go back to the NL. I'd be stunned if he's not on the Dodgers next year. To his credit, it's no shock he's tiring down the stretch. Just an insane workload for him this season, and there were definitely opportunities to limit his pitch count in earlier starts.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 03:36 AM) I can't believe this motherf***er chose NOW to have this experiment. You know what I think of this. It's been amateur hour on the bench for far too long this season.
  10. I can't believe they put Liriano into the bullpen. What a terrible decision, but that's par for the course right now. What more does Viciedo have to do against RHP to get benched?
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 08:38 PM) Just remember, you are the one that wanted Lillibridge platooning with De Aza in center Well said
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 08:18 PM) If the Sox make the playoffs & Dunn is healthy and DHing, would you platoon Wise & Tank in left? Absolutely, and yes NSS, I would have given Dan Johnson a chance to give us some quality ABs vs RHP.
  13. Stop playing Viciedo against a righty!
  14. I know they're hitting awful with RISP right now, but at least they're getting base runners. Quintana, like Santiago and Axelrod recently, delivered in a big way tonight. Huge win, hopefully this settles the team down. Oh, and Donnie Veal is awesome!
  15. Kerry Wood Retirement Game
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 03:29 AM) Lawler collapsed. Ugh They're performing CPR on him
  17. My lineup suggestion for tomorrow is: - De Aza 8 - Youk 5 - Wise 7 - PK 3 - Rios 9 - AJ 2 -Ramirez 6 - Johnson 0 - Beckham 4
  18. Didn't see a thread to include this in, but I think Santiago is winning himself a spot in the 2013 rotation.
  19. Hey Sox players, show up to the park on time
  20. By my calculations, the Sox were 0-14 with man on 3rd during the KC series, including 8 at bats with less than two outs. Not once did they get the runner home.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) Sox were last or 2nd to last in scouting spending in MLB in a article I read 2 years ago. They're spending all their money on the draft, that's why
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 11:06 PM) According to this site, releivers the Sox have that shouldn't be used in tight situations: Jones Thornton Humber Meyers Reed Considering many on this site insist on pitchers being pulled the first hint of trouble, who do you suggest they use? Can Veal pitch 75 innings the rest of the season? Thornton's fine as long as it's not the 9th. Jones has pitched pretty good of late, and seems like someone who should start innings so he had more room to work with.
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 10:49 PM) I don't care if we win the World Series, if Robin wins manager of the year, I'm going to freak. He has no prayer as long as A's keep winning. Bob Melvin's doing just an incredible job.
