  1. So how many games is Myers away from getting his contract option guaranteed?
  2. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 03:21 AM) My take is that Robin hates managing after all and wants to get fired. Wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world. He wouldn't get fired though, he'd just resign.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 04:17 AM) Now Veal pitches..... The decisions keep getting more inexcusable. Ha, and now Myers gets to finish a game!!!!!!!!!
  4. Good thing they saved Veal for the 9th.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 04:15 AM) I'm thinking a lot of this is mental. Once it gets to 8-1 and the pressure is off the Sox score a bunch. Now that it's a three-run game and we technically are back in the game, the hitters will be all tight and fail again. It's probably more mental that the opposing pitcher isn't as focused
  6. Brutal call by the 3rd base umpire
  7. Oh Robin It's too bad they decided to let Omogrosso, Septimo and Axelrod be the relievers used instead of the main guys.
  8. If Youk homers off of Benoit in this inning, we'll just have to laugh.
  9. Can the Sox trade Dunn and then sign David Ortiz If the Sox don't sign AJ, I still believe they'll go with the tandem of Flowers and Kurt Suzuki (once a Sox killer, always a Sox killer)
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:55 AM) The cool thing about next year is that we very well may have some money to spend, particularly if you don't sign AJ. Third base needs to be an area of focus in the offseason
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:53 AM) This team needs to get healthy and/or steroided Unfortunately, the Tigers are the ones who seem completely healthy right now while the White Sox are so banged up.
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 03:50 AM) I'll add that this rebuilding rules No matter what, this has been a positive year. In no way am I giving up on the year, even if the Sox lose tomorrow. Far too many strange things have happened with the Tigers losing to inferior opponents this year, and they also have to face the red hot A's next week. Plain and simple, the Tigers are a HORRIBLE match-up for the Sox this year.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:45 AM) Aren't you sick of this kind of baseball rather than Thornton or Crain pitching a FULL inning once in a while? This is bulls*** lefty/righty madness and it doesn't work. It doesn't work? Lefties are 0-20 vs Veal this year. Righties are hitting .122 off of Crain this year. You can definitely put your team in a great position to succeed by playing match-ups.
  14. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:44 AM) Well, a reliever and Reed are going to have to not give up any runs. On a scale of 1 to 10, how confident are you of that happening? Well, if they can't score off of Verlander, then they don't deserve to win.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:44 AM) At least attendance sucked during this bizarre season. Why is that good?
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 03:42 AM) You guys that love to second guess Robin for all these bad decisions regarding relievers much be in heaven the past few weeks as he brings in reliever after reliever until he runs out of them. It's boring, awful baseball and if we keep doing this in his second year as manager I expect us to finish last. Our bullpen SUCKS! It's not the way to win games bringing in tons of relievers. The bodies change but one thing is constant - ONE OR TWO OF THEM FAIL every night! If Donnie Veal wasn't God's gift to LOOGYS, then I might agree that Ventura had no other better options.
  17. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 03:41 AM) Anyone ever think that Cooper lost his magic wand? After 2008, where we haven't seen any significant improvement from Danks and Floyd.
  18. PK with a few nice swings tonight
  19. I'm stunned that Omogrosso and Septimo couldn't get out two of the best hitters on the planet. Someone needs to ask Cooper why Septimo seemed to just start warming up after Cabrera's "shocking" single off of Omogrosso. It was shades of when Reed was brought in when he wasn't warmed up vs the Mariners.
  20. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:33 AM) decisions? Any reliever we bring in seems to blow. You mean besides that lefty reliever who hasn't allowed one single hit to a lefty all year?
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:32 AM) Still sticking with my "should have left Hector in" theory Where the f*** was Veal? Septimo has shown that he's terrible in close games. Not only will they lose tonight, but now they have to use an inferior starter this weekend instead of Santiago.
  22. Sox don't deserve to win these games with these terrible decisions being made.
  23. Way to go Robin
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 02:30 AM) The hourly forecast looks pretty bad right now, including 7-10pm. That would be a shame. Isn't it the team's call prior to the start of the game? With the low attendance projected cause the Bears game, I think everyone would be content with this.
  25. So is Veal unavailable tonight after facing 3 batters in 3 games?
