8/20 Yankees at White Sox
Why is Veal even warming up if you don't bring him in to face their best lefty?

A's going to win so Sox lost 3 games this weekend in the WC standings to Tampa and Oakland. Anaheim has 6 more games vs Tigers, so we need them to start playing better.

Sox still easily control their own destiny. If they go into a big slump and/or decide they want to get dominated by KC and the Tigers to end the season, then they won't deserve to make the postseason. The Sox need to get healthy with ADA and Youk.

Great to hear Hawk blasting the decision making this road trip. Rios 0-4 in all three games.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) The only reason I am not ready to smash my laptop is half is because we had no business tying this game anyway. Should have lost 2-0 by now. We got VERY LUCKY that Hosmer f***ed up. And I'm sure Baltimore winning yesterday and today helps your mindset.

Any update on when ADA will return?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) .349 BAA against RHers this season is almost, hate to say, it unFATHOMable. How can you have that kind of stuff and suck so hard? Santiago, conversely, has been better against righties...so has Quintana, for the most most part. Jones has no idea how to pitch effectively up in the zone to either get a swing and miss or then use his offspeed pitch in the dirt. I do think he has a good future though.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) And Nate Jones continues to not deserve a roster spot. Completely unreliable...still time for KW to get another righty reliever on the waiver wire. You simply cannot have a righty you use in games that matter with such an awful WHIP the last 3 months.

How many unearned runs did they allow in the 1st half of the year as opposed to since the ASB?

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 09:43 PM) GREAT JOB OLMEDO, GREAT JOB AJ I don't mind going home first to guarantee that runner doesn't score.
-
GT: Chicago White Sox @ at KC Royals
Wow, pathetic. AJ's focus this weekend has been horrible. Also, give me Dunn over PK at 1b this year defensively.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 08:41 PM) Oh please fans every where question managerial decisions. There's no such thing as a perfect manager. Moves you make won't work and some will. He didn't pinch hit for Olmedo or Wise and that turned out good. Well, there was no one on the team he could have even used

48 base runners this series for KC....22 for the White Sox
-
GT: Chicago White Sox @ at KC Royals
How many f'n base runners can our pitchers allow this weekend? I swear, no team in baseball is tougher to get out from the 6th inning and later against the Sox than KC. Been this way forever.

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) f***ing crainwreck First run allowed in 9.1 innings. He's been great since he returned. I guess I will never understand why managers so rarely use pitch outs in obvious running situations.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) Crain really looking tired, the ball is sailing up on him. Matt Thornton being so unreliable has put some unnecessary innings on Myers and Crain of late. It's hard to get mad at Crain and Myers performance this weekend given how well they've pitched of late.

BTW, can we delete that relief pitching thread?

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 19, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) I don't think Robin understands the concept of the open base. Just terrible managing...if it was Frenchy, I'm sure they walk him.

Hawk is livid

GT: Chicago White Sox @ at KC Royals
So why are they throwing Perez offspeed pitches on the outer half when you know he's trying to hit the ball that way? They keep letting Perez beat us on soft stuff.
-
GT: Chicago White Sox @ at KC Royals
Why in the hell did we pitch to Perez with the open base? Just terrible f***ing baseball all around this weekend. Ventura showing no feel for the game AT ALL.
