  1. Sox had no prayer against his splitter earlier in the year also. For as good as Viciedo's AB was in the 9th, that one was bad.
  2. Twins escaped 1st and 3rd, no outs and game is still tied.
  3. Toronto's bullpen is way better than it was a month or so ago.
  4. Any idea who's pitching for Toronto in the 10th? Great inning by Myers there.
  5. Tigers tied it up, threatening for more
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:25 AM) Viciedo just keeps fouling those inside pitches off the other way...one of these days he's going to start squaring those up again. That was a really good AB by him
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) How many pitches did he throw? If he's under 125 I'd say he'd pitch the ninth. The Peavy factor. Don't mess with him. What are you talking about? You're the same person that says managers shouldn't be intimidated by him.
  8. Awful call by Hawk on AJ's routine fly ball
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:18 AM) Followed by 3/3, 2 HR Stay hot
  10. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:16 AM) So Wise is the saviour now and gonna cure the ills of this offense? Come on man. You are smarter than that. Plain and simple, I think he gives you better at bats vs righties than Flowers
  11. Peavy finished strong. Get two runs and get him the win!
  12. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) Not sure who you would rather be playing? Wise? Hudson? The bottom 3 of the lineup have as many hits as the top 3. Nothing Ventura could do. This offense is just not very consistent. Absolutely would I have played Wise and DH'd Viciedo. Flowers would catch Wed/Thurs in my opinion.
  13. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 01:10 AM) In all fairness, Torontos lineup is brutal. Not really anything else Ventura can do tonight. This offense is just too hit or miss. No consistency against s*** pitchers. I know I said it earlier, but there was no reason for Flowers to be playing tonight. Against a righty with good offspeed stuff, a bottom 4 of Alexei, Viciedo, Flowers and Beckham is a recipe for easy outs for the pitcher. With that said, go get 'em next inning 3/4/5
  14. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:06 AM) Like I said when they played KC. You cannot win a division when you lose games against teams you are suppose to beat and that are inferior to you. It's just not a good lineup Ventura had out there today. He needs to try and maximize the offense when Peavy's on the mound, as his lack of run support has been shocking.
  15. Double digit strikeouts tonight.
  16. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 12:57 AM) To be fair, it's tough to win constantly receiving absolutely no run support. yep, not necessarily his fault. Just seems he's struggled in the 6th-7th innings lately.
  17. Peavy gonna do just enough to lose again?
  18. There we go, nice to get that run back...397
  19. Gotta love letting their only good hitter beat us. Peavy doing just enough to not get the job done there.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 12:44 AM) We seem to hit a lot of batters. Not good to hit the #9 hitter with blazing speed
  21. QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 11:40 PM) What's strange about De Aza is that his funks last like 7 AB's then suddenly he'll go 4-5 3-4 Yeah, he's done a great job of avoiding massive cold streaks.
  22. Pure domination by Villanueva so far, as that was a 10 pitch inning with 3 strike outs. De Aza's in a bit of a funk right now.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 11:36 PM) Villaneuva's breaking ball has been flat filthy so far. You have to hope he doesn't have command of it and try to get his pitch count up. I just keep shaking my head at Flowers being expected to hit him.
  24. 53 ABs and counting since Dunn's last homer. I believe he only has 6 hits in those 53 ABs.
