QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 02:12 AM)
The Done line, as in, if you strike out this much, but aren't named Adam Dunn, you are Done.
You have to be pretty good to get enough at bats to strike out as much as Dunn does.
I'd love to see Rios moved into the 3rd spot, with Youkilis batting 6th and Viciedo 7th (Dunn batting 5th). That would prevent the opposing manager from bringing in lefties to face the 1/2/3.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 02:08 AM)
Dunn has zero chance until they bring in a reliever tonight.
That average is on the way to the Mendoza Line.
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 01:58 AM)
I might need to go work out because I'm getting angry!
It happens, we face two awful pitchers the next two games. I'd be much more angry if we lose those games.
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 01:57 AM)
Absolutely. He has regressed very rapidly over there.
It seems ever since he went into a slump due to the wrist issues, his defense has been very mediocre at first base.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 12:53 AM)
I think Youkilis should have stopped Rios' bad throw.
If you want to blame someone for a play that should have been made, PK was slow to react on Plouffe's cheap single.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 12:53 AM)
I think Youkilis should have stopped Rios' bad throw.
Not a chance, as it bounced up and hit his wrist it looked like. Bad throw, bad job by Peavy of not being in position.
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 12:51 AM)
The feeling of doom which pervades every Twins' series or match-ups against Liriano, Sabathia or Johan Santana.
Liriano doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence with those other two guys. 4-3 vs Sox in his career. Problem is he's on a good roll right now and Sox offense is in a major funk (1 run or less in 3 of last 5 games). Still a chance for Liriano to get wild and Sox to hit a blast though.
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 01:46 AM)
We could have a battle of mediocrity going down the stretch.
We say this every year it seems, and one team gets hot and wins 90 games.
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 12:44 AM)
Only question is how many other teams (Royals and Twins) are back in it as well.
Neither are back in it, and I bet both are sellers in the next month. It's a White Sox/Tigers battle, in my opinion.
QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 12:43 AM)
His defense cost us a run already. Cost us an out just now.
Well, I'd rather his defense win us a close game instead of potentially adding on to a blowout loss
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 12:42 AM)
Awesome. Offense better get it going soon, or we are going to head into the all-star break with absolutely no momentum.
It's one game against a red hot pitcher. With the incredibly hard schedule the rest of the way after this series, it's hard to imagine this game meaning anything with regards to momentum. If the Sox can go .500 the rest of the first half, that would be a huge victory IMO.
