  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) At this point I'd prefer Wayman over Mike. (too soon?) No way, perfect!
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 07:49 PM) Offensively though he has some work to do. I don't think I'd take him top 10 at the moment to be honest. Too many other intriguing players ahead of him right now I'd be interested to know the other 10. Only ones that I'd consider over him are P. Jones, Irving, Sullinger, and Barnes. Of the 5, Thompson has the greatest chance to turn into a superstar, IMO.
  3. If I had the first pick in the NBA draft, I very well might take Tristan Thompson. He's had an amazing impact on the defense of Texas.
  4. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) He more likely goes to SLU IMO. He's not going to get the time at Missouri and he doesn't fit their system as well because he isn't a runner. Ugh, I'm getting old, as I totally meant to say SLU. You're right, he's not exactly a fit for Missouri in many ways.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) I hope so. That deal will cripple the Cubs within a very short period of time. It will be just like Soriano. He will put up numbers at the beginning, but there is no way he will be worth that amount of money at 37-41 years old. It will also mean that the Cubs won't have the money to spend on other players to put around Poo_holes. They better hope that Vitters, Jackson, Cashner, and others pan out (and you know how often Cubs prospects pan out). If the Cards lose Pujols, they should take the money they had designated for him and go after Prince. Funny thing is that with all of this, the Reds have a chance to have the best team in that division if they can make some smart moves in the next few years.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) Sounds like Rock signed a Legends deal. Which means?
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) Take it FWIW @SI_JonHeyman one competing baseball exec told me he believes #cubs will offer pujols the a-rod deal ($10 mil, $27.5 mil/yr). supposed to be 10 years of course, not 10 mil They'd be nuts to do that deal. Still think the Cubs rumors are from Pujols' side trying to scare the Cardinals.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 03:17 PM) For Illinois fans, Illinois offered Max Biefeldt yesterday. Not sure how I feel about this. That kid is a tremendous high school player (I'm not sure there is a better high school player in the state, but he wouldn't be in my top 10 for ranking prospects), is highly skilled for a big man, and he adds toughness. But he is undersized and not particularly athletic which is obviously a huge concern. I think more than anything this speaks to just how awful the 2012 HS basketball class is in Illinois. And it guarantees that Griffey and/or Richmond are gone. Much more likely it's Griffey transferring, possibly to Missouri.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 05:14 AM) Was he actually there live or via video? Live, and did about a 15 minute promo. The set-up was pretty awesome, as they teased it was going to be a female as they showed a girl getting out of the limo. They teased a Rock/Cena confrontation at WM.
  10. Am I a bad person for loving the Rock out there? Crazy it's been 7 years, but if you didn't know better, Rock made it sound like he'll be a little more involved with WWE even after WM.

DO NOT miss the first 5 mintues of Shameless.
  12. I saw some people suggesting KC for Pujols, which in all honesty makes just as much sense as him going to Chicago.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 02:19 AM) It's not that. I just don't think either would shell out $30 million a year for 10 years for what would be a luxury for them. I can't even see the Yankees sporting a $250 million dollar payroll. The funny thing is that the Cubs could spend that 30 million a hell of a lot better than using it on Pujols.
  14. If Pujols is interested in going to the Cubs, then he'll also be interested in going to the Yankees you would think.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Too many Illini fans blame the refs. Seriously. Every game. They also think that every other team cheats when recruiting but them. With that said, the Illini fans on this board are good ones. I really feel like Weber has created an excuse-laden culture with that program instead of ever putting responsibility on himself. His biggest issue after this year is managing the enormous ego of three of his starting players (in the rare chance they all return) in Leonard, Richmond and Paul.
  16. Great post hitless. For Illinois to go as far as they can this year, they obviously need McCamey, Tisdale and Davis to play their best ball. The Crandall Head clamoring is almost worse than that for Leonard.
  17. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 09:30 PM) Weren't some fans thinking Meyers could be a one and done? The dude is so bad everytime I see him. Seems like he has a ton of potential, he just plays dumb and does more whining with Richmond than anything else. How dare you make fun of the White Dwight Howard!
  18. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) Weber sent a great message to his team but starting McCamey and Tisdale over the guys that deserve to start. Ugh, I'm so sick of hearing Illini fans (not on this site, but other boards) want to see Leonard play over Tisdale. Leonard is terrible, and whenever he was in today, Johnson schooled him. Illini fans need to realize that this team will do or die based on how McCamey plays.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 13, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) pretty sure every good team has a guy like him. he just talks, which is fine unless he fails to back it up. normally he does. What does he have, 3 techs and an intentional foul this year? He's just so immature on the court.
  20. Richmond continues to be just about the most unlikeable college basketball player I can remember. Brandon Paul looking great...he really needs to be the go-to guy for Illinois.
  21. Another worry with 4 man rotation is if Gavin gets off to his usual ugly start.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) Agreed. Some of the football scenes were well down but others were just absolutely horrible. And way too many games came down to a final play, that just doesn't happen often in football. Yep, any smart betting man would have just bet on the game being within 6 points, and they would have won a lot of money. I watched the pilot, and I remember almost not watching the second episode because of how awful the football scenes were. Thankfully, I sucked it up and watched the 2nd episode. And yes, Riggins leaving shoes on the field was a fantastic moment.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) The way it was done, I would of been fine if they left the result of the state title game up in the air for discussion. It's funny, basically since the pilot episode, I HATED the football scenes from the show. It was so much better for the drama off the field than on it.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 04:07 AM) That's an exaggeration but ya Utah State really isn't all that great, that I agree with you on. That's one of the few times you'll see an overrated mid major, mostly because Utah State has definitely earned a reputation the last few years. I agree, Utah State has definitely carved its niche as a 20-25th ranked team even though they don't beat anyone.
  25. Man, outside of the big 3 of Minnesota, they are absolutely awful. Is it just that Kentucky recruits all the good players...because it's insane how little depth so many of these teams have. I watched the #17 team in the country last night, and I'm confident they wouldn't win 6 games in one of the bigger conferences.
