Dunn, Thornton, AJ, Rios, Beckham, Oz, KW
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 7, 2011 -> 05:49 PM) Thornton actually looked pretty damn awesome last night, and thats really encouraging. He may have been left in a little too long, but its not like he was getting hit around, the hits they got on him were shanked bleeders. I thought Seattle got really good swings against him (besides Olivo and Bradley, of course). Ichiro hit his ball hard, Chone did, Saunders flew out pretty deep, and Wilson and Ryan hit the ball hard. He did have good command in the 8th though, and when he has good command, he's throwing up and in to righties instead of down the plate.

If you noticed, Thornton was down in the zone in the 9th inning with a lot of his pitches. He was clearly gassed, as he was able to stay up in the zone with a few more mph in the 8th inning. It's comical that he was left in that long. Oh, and Ozzie, why not use Crain instead of Santos then?

Sox (11-21) vs Mariners (15-17) 5/6 @ 9:10 CSN
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:49 AM) He's not getting demoted. In fact, if Peavy shows he's healthy, I think a pitcher is going to get traded pretty soon. Wouldn't shock me for a second if Danks is first to go, with someone on Sox leaking to Heyman he will file for free agency after 2012.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:45 AM) I didn't see it so tell me what was the big mistake(s) Ozzie made, other than leaving Thornton in so long? Pitched to Babe Smoak with an open base instead of going after Cust, who looked bad vs Humber. Stone was questioning it even before the decision.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:45 AM) Supposedly they are going to a 6 man rotation. That's going to piss off all starters on our team not named Phil. Jackson, Buehrle and Danks going to lose so money cause of it.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:42 AM) I'm sure there's a Josh Phegley clone out there somewhere. Any good players out there that are playing in college football? I was a fan of Mitchell when we picked him, but even he seems to be a likely bust.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:42 AM) And he will be out of the rotation so Mr. Glass can come back. So that would mean Humber would be back in the rotation after a start or two.

So who's supposed to be good in the 2012 draft that isn't a Boras client and doesn't want above slot money?

Kiss of Death? KW denies coach firings are imminent
Tonight was just an absoluteyl patetic display of managing by Ozzie. He's doing his best to force JR and KW to get rid of him.

whitesox.com is reporting we're trying to stretch out Thornton so that we can go with a 7 man rotation!

Really have no idea why Crain wasn't brought in to face Wilson.

He looks gassed. Fastball down 2 mph this inning.

Thornton's fastball isn't popping as much this inning.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:27 AM) White Sox killer Jack Cust stepping to the plate. I love the low fastball pitch. We never learn

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:27 AM) This organization is in f***ing shambles. I'd rather be the Cubs right now. That's a no-brainer, especially with how bad the future looks for some of the other teams in the NL Central.

Ok Matt, do not throw Cust a low fastball like you did Dan Johnson.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:24 AM) lol@Rios If we were down 5, he would have totally homered there

I'd have Thornton stay in instead of seeing Sale have to face three righties. Way he's going, he's bound to give up a homer to one of them.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:23 AM) God I'm so sick of AJ. He's just boring now. He's not a grinder, he's a grounder.

AJP is just a bad hitter. Another worthless offensive night for him.

We don't have a righty reliever ready for Olivo? Doesn't he crush lefties?

Sox (11-21) vs Mariners (15-17) 5/6 @ 9:10 CSN
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 7, 2011 -> 04:06 AM) why? He seemingly never communicates with our players (which in turn, might be part of the reason we suck at base running). How many times have we seen Konerko try to stretch a single into a double only to be thrown out by 10 feet? He's just not vocal enough there, as there's two Baines statues at the Cell. One on the concourse, one in the first base coaches box.

Terrible at bats by Konerko the last two times up.
