QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) Not sure if he's saying his knee is scratched or if he's scratched from the lineup because of his knee. Probably hurt it on his first inning play. We need him in the lineup!!

B.J. Upton is so overrated!
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) I don't think anyone in the league would take him, to be honest. I disagree, I think an NL team like the Phillies, Giants, Reds, Dodgers, or Cardinals would.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) Major league 4 just may happen. If and when they do it, they are pretty much pretending like 3 never happened, and they are hoping to bring back the main core. Really?
-
Any play made in the first 4 innings yesterday was sensational, as that sun was BRUTAL!

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) In all fairness... the guy probably would have some decent numbers if he had gotten more playing time and more at bats. If he were the everyday starter, his line would probably look a lot different. Maybe he'd be better served by getting DFAd and latching on to a team not in the race that can afford to give him more playing time... like the Orioles or the Pirates or Indians. or Newark

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) Probably a mixture of both really. This thread also shows the classic difference between Cubs and White Sox fans, and why we chose the side that we did. I was at the game last night, and there was a lot of booing for Andruw Jones. I was proud of the fans for that. This isn't a shot at greg, as even I excused Jenks for being rusty. However, there was a ton of tension in the stadium during the 8th inning, even prior to Threets coming in. Hell, the PA didn't even have Jenks music ready to go. It was like when Wild Thing entered the game for the Indians in Major League 2.

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) This is crazy, I'm getting married this Saturday and have a million things to do, but the only thing on my mind has been NBA free agency, all weekend, non-stop. It's really starting to drive me nuts, but there isn't much I can do........thank God I'll be on a honeymoon all next week. Well, it sounds like there's an 80-90 pct chance that the Bulls miss out, so go hide from your fiance all week and let that be your area of focus.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) Haha we're a game out of first just after the 4th of July, and this is the pregame discussion. We have to be the most negative fanbase ever. or the smartest

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) So fathom, if Andruw hits 2 out tonight, will he be cut in the morning? That's a good question, and one that's impossible to answer.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:03 PM) And let's face it, the guy roided up. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to show me some facts that he did that when surrounded by a bunch of clean guys like Gary Sheffield, Javy Lopez, Mark Derosa, etc.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:03 PM) And let's face it, the guy roided up. Who, Andruw or Lillibomb?
-
I'm not saying I don't like the coaching hire, but rather they made the hire so quickly due to things WWW was telling them. I also think that Adrian Wojnarowski has been totally played throughout.
-
I've thought for a while that WWWes unintentionally caused the Bulls to make a lot of sudden moves, including hiring Thibbs and trading Hinrich.
-
There's 2 reasons Andruw Jones is still around....399 and 400

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) Solid start for Hudson, but Tillman was a lot better. Hudson seems to be throwing a lot of pitches this season, leading to him only going 5 or 6 innings per outing... I wouldn't be surprised if he is trying to be too fine instead of just pitching. But that's a huge concern for him at the major league level.
-
Can we hope for a 3 inning game that then gets postponed during rain, that way Weaver can't pitch again this series? For all this "versatility", sure seems like Ozzie has given himself very little options out on the field.
-
Holy cow, STOP PLAYING ANDRUW JONES!!
-
Best thing that could happen to Bulls is Bosh going to Cleveland. It's only chance they have to get Wade. Deng's contract is being used as the scapegoat by a lot of Chicago media right now, as it's being blamed for not being able to land Wade and Bosh with max deals.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 06:13 AM) But we have Brent Lillibridge... I love the callers on the postgame saying how we don't need a new bat, as Viciedo/Lillibomb will be able to fill the holes we have. Sadly, no one told them that was wishful thinking. Someone also suggested Teahen should be the DH.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 06:12 AM) I think Brett Gardner may change their minds about Crawford. I'm a huge Gardner fan...too bad we didn't trade for him when there were rumors last offseason.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 05:09 AM) Yeah, I suppose you're right, with Vazquez coming off the books after this year, they very well might be in on the bidding. I can only imagine have $44M a year tied up in two pitchers for 5-6 years... It's a pretty common belief the Yankees won't be outbid for Lee and Crawford this offseason.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:44 AM) So that's basically Flowers/Hudson from our perspective. Ramos is much more liked by scouts than Hudson. Twins really have a great chip in Ramos considering they have Mauer.
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:40 AM) Kenny will have a better hand then the Twins. He upstaged them last year. Pretty hard to have a better hand than one of the top 3 pitchers in all of baseball. I'm not as concerned about the Sox facing Lee, as I think we can hit his fastball. It's the other, more mediocre teams in the AL, that I think Lee will dominate and allow the Twins to rack up wins.

If Bulls sign James, they might try to sign my personal favorite, Anthony Morrow, to provide some shooting.
