  1. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) This is awful, see you guys later If they can't put together a strong home stand in the coming week, the Sox are in a ton of trouble. 3 man rotation, 2 man bullpen, and struggling offense.
  2. Have all their hits come with 2 strikes?
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) It would be working just fine if Castro was still facing LHP in addition to catching Garcia. Totally agreed
  4. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) Why does AJ have a fit everytime he makes an out? Dude, you make weak contact every time you bat... He's just a terrible hitter now. I'm not even joking when I say that Ramon Castro needs to get more ABs. I hate the f***ing "personal catcher" stuff, as it screws you out of good match-ups.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 10:11 PM) Carlos continuing to foul cookies. He's an easy out right now because he's so off-balanced. Sox have a lot of hitters who have cooled off, so hopefully ball is jumping at the Cell this coming week. In particular, our lefty hitters are atrocious. Must be something like 6 for their last 70. AJP is 2 for last 25 Pierre is 2 for last 22 Kotsay is 2 for last 5 seasons.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:08 PM) Rios has become a singles hitting machine. He's opening up early, which is causing him to not square up the ball.
  7. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) only that beckham isnt going anywhere good to hear
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) Have you looked at his stats the last 3 months? Yes, he was dominating AAA. Looking at his full numbers, yes, he was doing good the last 2 months. I wonder why he struggled so much on the road?
  9. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:59 PM) the last 90 games scream we need a DH Doc, hearing anything interesting these days?
  10. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) Like most of our other prospects... past and present. The great Buddy Bell will fix 'em
  11. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:54 PM) If these last 2 games don't scream "We need to trade for a starting pitcher" then I dunno what does. We don't need another bat, get some arms. We have no resouces to acquire anything significant on the mound. Flowers and Viciedo are about it, and 95% of major league teams can/will offer more than that. If Garcia/Hudson can't perform well, then this team is going to really struggle.
  12. Hudson has to hold them here. We're getting back into the mode of "7-10 Sox hitters retired in a row". Shades of April/May. This homestand couldn't come at a better time. Maybe King Felix will have a blister problem!
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) Because you're not going to develop confidence that you can get major league hitters out with your 3rd pitch by throwing it in AAA when you're already better than the guys you're facing? It's not like he was dominating AAA though. There was still a lot for him to work on, including limiting pitches per inning and being able to get lefty hitters out.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) Bah, he's ready for the majors...just 95% of pitchers need an adjustment period once they get there. The only ones who don't are guys like Stras who simply have incredible stuff. How's he ready for the majors if he doesn't have enough confidence in a 3rd pitch to throw it?
  15. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) Maybe we're overvaluing Hudson a *tad* Of course we are, but the problem is there's no one else to take his spot. Even going back to last year, I was never impressed with Hudson and hoped we'd trade him. However, Peavy's injury just crippled everything.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 09:46 PM) Absolutely terrible pitch selection this inning. FREE RAMON CASTRO!
  17. Jeez, Peavy's injury was such a killer. Hudson's not ready for the majors...not having a slider makes him just a mediocre pitcher.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 08:44 PM) That was like Roger f***ing Dorn Beckham's been a huge disappointment at 2nd base. He plays the position like he has no athleticism at all.
  19. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) Hudson is a fastball change pitcher today. No breaking ball?? Hasn't shown much of a slider since he's been up. His slider has reached mythical status like Dewon Day's.
  20. Wow, that was a piss poor effort by Beckham. This team just has no swagger since the ASB. And AJP, please call for the 0-2 changeup.
  21. Just a matter of time before Hudson implodes if he keeps struggling to throw strikes.
  22. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) Isn't one of Huddy's strengths to throw strikes? Seems as if he either has nerves or is trying to nibble too much to me. I didn't see his start in Seattle, however. It's not rare for young pitchers to be a bit afraid of the bat when coming to the big leagues I guess...so let's see There was a lot of concern in the minors this year about how many pitches he was throwing to complete innings.
  23. Bad pitch on 0-2...should have gone with the change-up.
  24. Hudson's going to have to change something up so he doesn't drop his back shoulder so much before throwing his fastball. It's really making it hard for him to repeat his delivery. As a two-pitch pitcher, you have to have better command than he does.
  25. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 08:27 PM) I wonder how many scouts are at this game. Hopefully only for Viciedo.
