Mercy, that almost looked like a curveball he threw.
-
Peavy has his plus-plus slider going tonight!!
-
Rios continues to make a lot of solid outs. He showed a great approach driving that to right.
-
He's turned into Rickey Henderson!

QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 9, 2010 -> 12:45 AM) Let's see if Juan can double his hits with RISP He did, but miscommunication at 3rd cost us a run.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 9, 2010 -> 12:42 AM) What the hell are we going to do about Pierre, CQ, Teahen and Ramirez next year? I wonder if they'll have the balls to just let them go and eat their salary to get some better players in here. Maybe not CQ. I guess we just have to pray on him. Pierre and Teahen are the two guys that you can't continue to play if they continue to give us this awful production. Teahen should never played against LHP.

If Quentin swings at the first pitch, he better be pulling the ball 450 feet foul at least. Way too many first pitch pop ups to right.

Welcome back stud!
-
Very nice AB by Beckham, he took some pretty good pitches.
-
Ho hum, another weak ground out
-
Doesn't seem like Peavy is comfortable, as he keeps stretching out. And oh boy, Pierre just loses an easy foul fly ball.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) Meh. Constructive post!
-
Teahen has an OPS under .400 against LHP, and not a single lefty batter has a hit against B. Cecil this season. Why the f*** is he in the lineup? 3 lefties in the lineup, AWESOME! We need fewer assholes managing this team, and more people in the organization that better utilize our resources.

Miguel Cabrera with 32 RBIs on the season.

Don Cheadle was TERRIBLE in Iron Man 2.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 8, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) And the Yankees are pretty much in the same boat. 20-8 overall, 19-4 in games not started by Vazquez, getting great starting pitching besides Vazquez and scoring runs despite Teixeira not hitting at all, Nick Johnson not hitting at all, Granderson struggling and ARod hitting well below his capabilities. Those two teams are by far and away the class of the AL. I said it a week ago, but it seems like 3 of the 4 spots in the AL playoffs have already been decided.

I used to think Crawford was overrated, but he's really reaching his peak it seems. That team really is special, as David Price is looking like a Cy Young contender.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 8, 2010 -> 07:01 AM) I go back to the argument of about 5-6 years ago, when this team did make the playoffs, but too often you'd see them put up very low scores in the playoffs because of the "all or nothing" approach. So it's which of the 2 evils do you prefer here I suppose. And I'll say my argument is that you could have had Benji Molina leading off in 2005, and that team would have made the playoffs. Great pitching can mask a lot of offensive woes. -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 8, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) I'd say Quentin. You just don't often get to acquire guys with his talent on the cheap. And yeah he's basically struggled for a season and a bit now, but I still have faith he can turn it around. I had more faith in him turning it around this season than Rios, and the latter's proved me wrong so far. In 3 years, I wonder who the better player will be in the Quentin trade, him or Carter?

What a disaster this rotating DH NL lineup idea is...

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 8, 2010 -> 03:51 AM) And there are also numbers that indicate that Vizquel is still just fine defensively. Sure, Vizquel has lost something, but when you were the very best, falling off can (and in this case, has proven) to mean you are just very good defensively. Vizquel has no range at 2nd base -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2010 -> 03:44 AM) Guys they are not throwing Santos on back to back nights. They are obviously concerned about keeping him healthy because he has exactly one season under his belt as a pitcher, and it sounds like he has a pretty significant sore arm period of adjustment last year. Which is why it's really frustrating that they keep pitching him in games we're losing. -

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 8, 2010 -> 03:32 AM) Last May I watched the Sox get drilled and humiliated on back to back home Fridays and realized this team was not any good and never really watched them with any excitement the rest of the year. It took me three games this year to realize there were no changes made to this team I would give KW so much credit if he just got power hitters at all 9 positions, and then tried to outslug everyone. No more slap hitters, no more bunting. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 8, 2010 -> 04:30 AM) They're the equivalent of an arena football or WNBA franchise right now. HOW DARE YOU TALK BADLY ABOUT THE CHICAGO SKY! -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2010 -> 04:28 AM) Will be embarassing to have an attendance of less than 20,000 for a Friday home game in May...yeah, yeah, it's the cold weather, that's it. Well, most fans probably just stayed home to watch the Blackhawks. Truth be told, the White Sox have no buzz in Chicago right now. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2010 -> 03:27 AM) It's weird to see a home run to left in the Cell and so few fans in the stands. Reminds me of my youth when nobody went to Old Comiskey. The Cell is gonna be a tomb this summer. Greg, can you please state why Ozzie should still be managing? What does he bring to this organization?
