Beckham needs to be sent down
The reason he was changed from 3b to 2b is because he'd give you average to mediocre power production as a 3b. As a 2b, he becomes above average. It was the right decision.

For the Love of Chase Blackwood
QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) Yeah, me too!! I'd like to know why he felt the need to bring me up, but it's whatever!!! haha I could have some amazing pitching skills ..ya never know!!! It wasn't a shot at you or anything like that, rather just making fun of Alexei's inability to hit a slider, even if a girl threw one!

After watching the Arkansas/ASU series, Eibner should be kept as an outfielder. Huge power!

Wait, so Jon Garland is struggling against an AL team after having a 1.15 ERA at home this season vs NL teams?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 03:59 AM) Randy Williams days have to be numbered... Any scouting report on Threets? Could he be worse than Williams? Pretty hard thrower is Threets...used to throw 98 mph before injury.

Films Thread
Get Him to the Greek was a decent film, but why did they have to cast such an ugly person as Jonah Hill's girlfriend? Seriously, she's "look away from the screen" ugly.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 01:01 AM) Is Jordan Danks bad at baseball? He's good defensively, but that's it. Never has been a good hitter.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 12:03 AM) Man, why is the Cardinals/Mariners game getting blacked out? I've never had a Cards game blacked out before... Wow, I can't believe the mods let you get away with a racist comment like this about Milton Bradley.

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) Wonder what kind of a manager Joe Crede would make.... He'd probably start off strong, and then have to take a Leave of Absence when his back hurts him in July.

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
Can you imagine if Jaime Navarro is ever the Manager? Could you imagine you how much entitlement he'd have with all the money he received during his career? Greg, I hate to break it to you, but if KW takes a different position and Ozzie stays as manager, he's going to get ripped on 10 times more than he ever has.

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) In our dysfunctional organization, only Jerry is Ozzie's boss. It's pretty obvious Oz has never treated KW like his "boss." KW has no power over Oz; never has and never will. I would think everybody would agree Jerry "likes" Oz more than KW. I'd go so far as to say Oz is ahead of KW on Jerry's depth chart. That's pretty apparent. KW is Oz's boss only in KW's mind IMO. And sadly, you don't see a problem with this.

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) KW pulled the trigger on Pierre and arguable on Thome, too. He's no lacky, he makes his own calls. I disagree with you 100 percent

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:50 PM) Since when is considering your boss an inferior NOT insubordination? How is that not a fireable offense? When you win the World Series in 2005, you are immune from the common laws of the work place.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) I wonder if any of this is getting played up for that TV show. Great, we have Spencer and Heidi running our team.

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) Maybe it's KW's act that has the organization weary. He's the GM, he should take responsibility for the team he put together. Instead, there's this notion that this is somehow Ozzie's team presumably because Ozzie says "we can win with this team" Cause Ozzie has always wanted speedy players, where as KW wanted a focus on OBP. We have Juan Pierre, who is Ozzie's favorite player in the majors, and someone he wanted on the Sox since the day he left the Marlins coaching staff. During ST, Ozzie and Hawk would tell everyone that would listen about how much they love the versatility of this team and how fast it was.

Most exciting players to watch
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) I LOVE watching Adam Wainwright pitch. They guy never hangs a curve and is just so efficient. And his inside fastball to righties is amazing. I agree, I love watching him pitch as well.

Most exciting players to watch
As for the player that gets the least with the most amount of talent, I'd have to say B.J. Upton.
-
Most exciting players to watch
Oh, I also love watching Juan Uribe bat. Every time I watch a game at San Fran, it amazes me how Bonds hit so many home runs there. That field is just mammoth. I don't care if he was on all the steroids in the world....lots of our players have been juiced up, and no one else could hit it out to right center there.

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) He had to run those players out of town because Ozzie hated them. FWIW, I heard Oz made life very hard on Swish in the clubhouse and made the friction with old guard like JD and Konerko harder for him to deal with. agreed, it seems he's never done anything to make relationships better in the clubhouse. I know for 100% fact that he sat around last year as the "old guard" didn't acknowledge Rios.

Beckham needs to be sent down
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) You could probably get Fukodome for Linebrink right now. Fukodome is not going to see the light of day. He is the bizarro world Ramirez as he can in April and May but nothing after that. If you do that deal, you better make the Cubs pay like 70% of his remaining deal.

Beckham needs to be sent down
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:30 PM) Fuk would immediately be one of our best OBP guys and the best leadoff hitter we could possible have while playing good defense. I would be all for it to replace Juan Pierre. But you have to worry about him just sucking beyond belief in his career after the first few months. Also, he has a ton of money still left on his deal.

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) Out of those moves, the 2 that were KW may actually turn out ok. Peavy will be fine, Teahen actually started hitting when he got hurt. Pierre and Thome were Oz's and are terrible. Heck, I'll point out that KW's worst move was unloading Swisher for nothing when his value was so low, and I always felt like Ozzie could have done a better job of dealing with Swisher on/off the field. If Ozzie's supposed to be a player's coach, then he has done a pretty job of creating a positive clubhouse environment with guys like Swisher, Cabrera, and Getz being run out of town cause they didn't fit in.

Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Geezus... why is this so black and white with some people? Either nothing is going on... Or it's inevitable Armageddon with someone on the verge of being fired and the organization coming apart at the seams? When you have the Manager's son accusing the GM's father of pulling strings to get the GM's son moved up into the batting order, that's pretty much is a soap-opera environment. Add that to the Thome issue, the Ozzie's wife yelling at KW in the parking lot while media watched, etc., and I personally don't think Cowley is reporting anything false right now.
-
Heyman: KW wants to fire Ozzie
So scenario, how can you still think nothing is going on when Konerko and Garcia confirmed that there was a very loud shouting match between Ozzie and KW?
