  1. Gavin's been excellent in 6 of 7 innings. I'll take this performance every time out. I've been very impressed with the Sox this series. We look significantly better than we did during April and into the Toronto debacle.
  2. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 28, 2009 -> 04:37 AM) 20-1 ain't close but I get your point. Just seeing if anyone was paying attention.
  3. Swing the bat Nix! I'm thinking Nix is probably better suited to only face lefties. The Beckham era can't start soon enough.
  4. Whatever happens tonight, I hope all of us enjoy tomorrow's off day. We've just won 3 straight series, and even the losses in those series were close.
  5. If it makes anyone feel better, Peavy had a similar blow-up today to what Gavin did. Damn Brian, you're going to open the door for DWise.
  6. Gavin playing a game of how many hangers can one throw in an inning. A great start is now on the verge of being another 5 run outing by Gavin.
  7. Can we just list every starter and keep it in one thread? Who's going to start the Cliff Lee thread?
  8. Stoney's blasting Gavin.
  9. Gavin really s*** the bed this inning. Hung two different curves with 2 strikes. Floyd is absolutely miserable out of the stretch.
  10. I'll gladly take a tie game after this inning. The #9 hitter really seems to be a rally starter vs the Sox this year.
  11. Damn, leadoff single. Extremely tough inning now for Gavin.
  12. Damn, PK also just missed that one.
  13. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ May 28, 2009 -> 03:10 AM) My big complaint about PK's D has always been tossing the ball to a covering pitcher when he could take it himself. Not only was tonight's play a display of good reflexes, and saved two runs, I also loved Konerko waiving Gavin off and making the play himself. I know sometimes it is the correct play, but the fewer times we have guys like Bartolo and Jose busting ass (or Achilles) to cover first the better. He really shines with his picks in the dirt. Really, this is your complaint? PK is slow...so why not toss it to the pitcher covering who has momentum? I can't recall one time PK messed up a flip to the pitcher. The main issue PK struggles with at 1B is his range to his left. He's very good to his right.
  14. Whew, that was nice!
  15. Gavin's got to use his curve more. Angels are starting to do some damage on the fastball.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2009 -> 03:02 AM) Pods needs to work the count here again. It will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the adjustment the league makes.
  17. Damn, losing our chance of getting Weaver's pitch count up.
  18. Poor pitch calling by AJP this inning. You can't throw Vlad a first pitch fastball.
  19. Ugh...stop throwing fastballs to Abreu when you get 2 strikes on him!
  20. Mercy, I thought Anderson got all of that.
  21. QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 28, 2009 -> 02:43 AM) no one complaining that it wasn't a double? i'm surprised. Rivera was playing him right down the line. Carl Crawford wouldn't have got a double on that.
  22. Two great swings by Thome and Dye.
  23. Hitters have no prayer against the curve if he can get 2 strikes on them!
