  1. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 01:55 AM) I thought that was gone, dadgummit. Serioiusly, that seemed like a no doubter. In the summer, that's gone.
  2. Good grief, this has potential to be the worst base running team in baseball history.
  3. Very nice eye by Ramirez there. Kinda ironic that only Thome has chased the bad knuckler so far.
  4. Nice hit by Konerko...didn't try to do too much with it.
  5. Big out...time to get some positive mojo going!!
  6. Great range by Getz so far. Not quite sure how Contreras will retire MLB hitters with the stuff he's showcasing.
  7. Tough error on Contreras...shouldn't it have been an E3?
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 01:41 AM) yep, looks like the same old Jose to me. He's getting no drive off of the mound, causing his velocity to be down about 3 mph.
  9. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 12:40 AM) If R.A. Dickey shuts the Sox out, Greg Walker should step down as hitting coach. The information available to these coaches is almost overwhelming. Walker and the Sox should very easily be able to put together a solid game plan to beat a bum like Dickey. I've been calling for Walker's head for two and a half years, so you can't just say that I'm "frustrated." I think it's interesting that Wise got the start tonight considering how much better righties hit Dickey last year.
  10. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 12:38 AM) How long has Joe Crede been a member of the whitesox, and we decide to groove him a fastball. Now sliders away, no breaking pitches, not even a forkball, a fastball. Unbelievable. Same thing that happened when Frank was back. I'm pretty sure he hit two inside sinkers against Garland for homers.
  11. Since chat isn't working, I figured I'd join my first game thread. Contreras doesn't look very sharp at all, as he's dropping down a lot and has mediocre velocity.
  12. Anyone know what's up with the chat feature not working?
  13. The good news is if their closers struggle, they can acquire Kerry Wood again and not have to create room in their locker room.
  14. Brewers win! The Cubs are such a classless team. Hill's explosion there was so uncalled for.
  15. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) That's the first of many to come. I wonder how long he's going to last in this role. I hope not for long, because Marmol is such a game-changer in the set-up man spot.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 12:08 AM) What did Crede do? I know that Ozzie was really frustrated with him in the second half of last season (was he playing or not playing, was he hurt or okay enough to play but advised by Boras to sit/rest?)...and he really lit into him a couple of times, but Ozzie has been nothing but chivalrous since the offseason started about Swisher, Cabrera and Crede. IIRC, once Crede left the team due to injury during the year, he basically stopped communicating with them.
  17. Ah yes, the weak link for the Cubs...Kevin Gregg. I can't believe Soriano wasn't playing no doubles. Anyone else see Vizcaino for the Cubs? I don't miss that guy.
  18. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 10:57 PM) Who cares if he badmouthed this organization? We have a manager who runs his mouth all the time and an arrogant, stubborn GM. It's not a coincidence that a number of players have done it recently. I almost side with the players. I'd prefer they don't say anything, but I don't hold it against them when they do. But Crede was being disrespectful while still under contract. He didn't badmouth the team at all...one of the few who didn't burn bridges on the way out.
  19. It's sad how Milwaukee has surrounded Fielder, Hart and Braun with such pathetic players. I'll go as far to say that team is done, as their window with all their young guys has closed. They have a brutal pitching staff with only two decent arms. Just two years ago, it looked like they could have a potential NL dynasty on their hands.
  20. QUOTE (JustWin @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) The Cubs are down 2-1 but you know it's just a matter of time before they take the lead (and probably win). When the Sox were down 2-0 yesterday we knew the game was over. WTF???!!!!! And yep, there's the lead for the Cubs. They're so much better than every other team in the NL Central, it's scary.
  21. I still can't believe the Cubs got Harden for nothing. He looks fantastic so far today, as his fastball is topping out at 97 mph.
  22. QUOTE (WinningUgly85 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 09:58 PM) Crede is a great guy. I don't understand why someone would boo him. It's not like he bad mouthed the white sox organization or did anything wrong here. It just came down to how healthy he could stay last season. How about reports of him not returning KW's calls when they were trying to find out how his back was feeling towards the end of last season?
  23. I hope he gets cheered and then goes 0 for the rest of the season. Crede acted unprofessional last season with the Sox organization towards the end of the season.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 07:52 PM) Holy s***. Who woke up the Tigers today? Kris Benson did
