QUOTE (jasonxctf @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:03 AM) now in all honesty, do people here actually believe that Lillibridge is better than Jerry Owens? I don't
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2009 -> 10:55 PM) Official Fathom stat of the day.... White Sox have been outscored an incredible 121-39 in their 17 losses. Average score of losses, 7.1 to 2.3. Differential of 4.8 per game. At least we've won MOST of the close games!!! Very nice...where does our run differential rank in all of baseball?
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 12, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) he may be awful, but remember this team "hasn't faced him before," which means he will be Cy Young tonight I was at a game last year where the Sox destroyed Sowers. With this lineup, 3 runs would be an explosion.
  4. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 12, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) He didn't try to get less for him, he sold low. He was in Ozzie's doghouse and he wanted him out of here. If the Sox didn't sell low and/or get ripped off for Swisher than they WAY overpaid for Swisher than initially thought. Swisher was a prime candidate to bounce back to his normal numbers which are worth well more than $6 million per season, or the combination of a butcher of a fielder, a worthless AAA pitcher, and some AA pitcher who is now struggling. This is coming from someone who wanted Swisher off the team. Awesome post. When the trade happened, it seemed like a bad trade. After seeing how awful Marquez is, seems even worse. When you see an injury to minor players like Brian Anderson cause our lineup to look terrible, that's when you get mad at KW for not acquiring enough MLB caliber players in these deals.

No idea how this could have happened.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 12, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) Nix, SS Getz, 2B Dye, RF Thome, DH Konerko, 1B Fields, 3B Miller, C Podsednik, LF Lillibridge, CF This is a disgusting line-up. 3 out of 9 don't have career avg. above .200. Yep, Ozzie's stubborness to put Alexei in CF continues to hurt this team. This is the worst lineup for a Sox team in many of years. Not good news about Quentin, just hope it's nothing serious.
  7. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 12, 2009 -> 08:22 PM) At least the number 2 hitter has ability. Why can't A.J. play today? He was off last Tuesday and Sunday and is off Thursday. Corky Miller sucks. He makes Colon look fit. Cause they play again tomorrow morning. I agree though, with him swinging the bat well and the team struggling, I'm sure he could manage to play tonight and then tomorrow.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 12, 2009 -> 07:46 PM) Nix SS Getz 2B Quentin LF Dye RF Thome DH Konerko 1B Fields 3B Miller C Podsednik CF It's like every game, we find a way to make the #8/9 hitters look worse on paper.

I was talking about Getz 3-4 years down the road if some of the young guys can come into their own. The ideal 1-2-3 is Danks, Beckham, and Quentin.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 12, 2009 -> 02:03 AM) fathom come on. if he's an "ideal" #9 hitters then very, very few teams in the major leagues have ideal #9 hitters. he'll grow to be a fine leadoff or 2 hole guy. It's not a negative at all. He'll make a good second leadoff man, but I think you can find a better leadoff man down the road.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2009 -> 01:58 AM) IT doesn't matter, offensively he has a pretty good idea and he'll be a very solid, Twins like ball-player. He's an ideal #9 hitter.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 12, 2009 -> 01:57 AM) Lillibridge and Getz need the Willie Mays Hayes treatment. Every time you hit a ball in the air you owe me 20 pushups. Getz reminds me so much of Sweeney at the plate (from 3 years ago), as he just doesn't seem strong enough to turn on an inside pitch and it results in so many lazy fly outs.
  13. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 12, 2009 -> 02:48 AM) The Sox getting curb stomped by the MLB's worst team (I'm pretty sure, at least)... is anyone really surprised? I'm not, not in the LEAST. I'm more shocked that our record is 14-17 now. It seems like we're 10 games under .500.
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 12, 2009 -> 02:48 AM) I liked Willie. Maybe they would take Lilibridge Actually I take it back..I don't want KW to make any trades where we're the ones trying to get the veteran player.
  15. Can we trade Broadway for Willie Harris?
  16. It was a lefty reliever against Thome...what were you expecting?
  17. Holy hell, how'd I get lump in with the Walker supporters!
  18. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ May 12, 2009 -> 02:26 AM) and I'll provide a HUGE correction: 2008, first season with the WhiteSox, 288avg, 100RBI, 36HR, AL MVP frontrunner in shortened season Carlos Quentin, and first season with the White Sox, 290avg, Rookie of the Year candidate Alexei Ramirez say hello!!! 2009, second season with the White Sox .239 avg Carlos Quentin, second season with the White Sox .194 avg Alexei Ramirez, and Rookie of the Year Winner Evan Longoria now hitting .358, with 11HR, 44RBI in his second season with player developing Tampa Bay, all say "What's up Greg Walker??" And my post was in response to Walker never turning around a "castoff"
  19. Balta...was this one of our biggest outputs against a starting pitcher all year?
  20. That single also got Lillibridge two more starts this series.
  21. CQ....stop swinging and pulling the first pitch! It's making him an easy out and an easy player to pitch to.
  22. Nice hit for Lillibridge there. Give us a thrill CQ.
  23. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 12, 2009 -> 01:14 AM) CQ having a good year last year is because of Walker.......BS. Please the more Walker is around him the lower is average goes. I hate Greg Walker, so don't think I believe he does a good job. However, why can't you say the same about Cooper and Floyd then?
  24. There we go, nice swing by Fields. Him being 2-3 is bright spot of the game.
  25. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 12, 2009 -> 02:09 AM) Cooper has a track record with cast offs.........Walker has not done s*** EVER! I'll stick up for DAllen and Greg Walker....Carlos Quentin says hello
