  1. The only concern about Rose is he seems like he's always going to be dinged up. Reminds me a lot of Baron Davis in that regard.
  2. Thought this would be appropriate for tonight....one of the best youtube clips around
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 11:14 PM) If Nix is in the White Sox plans, KW is crazier than Ozzie. All your scouting reports are from 2004. That's 5 seasons ago. He hasn't been a Rockies top 10 prospect for 3 years. He's a guy who has some ability and an outside chance to be a bench player. I wouldn't read anything more into this than that. Amazing how much excitement another all or nothing hitter who hasn't proven squat gets around here. He's a strikeout machine. Yep, he's nothing more than a AAAA player. No way we go into next season with a Getz/Nix platoon.
  4. I really thought that last dribbler was going to go foul. This World Series has been very disappointing, as neither team is playing at a high level.
  5. QUOTE (joeynach @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) I hope the surprise is that Thome/Konerko will be traded for figgins. Or that Vazquez will waive his no trade and get out of here. If it's either of those two straight up for Chone, then yuck! And BTW, Chone got the reputation last year as a bad clubhouse presence. KW and Ozzie better do their research on a guy's personality prior to any big acquisitions.
  6. Backdraft.....for anyone that has a brother or anyone that knows a cop or fire man.
  7. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 03:11 AM) The problem for Milwaukee is the economic position they find themselves in. Because Escobar seems ready to make the permanent jump to the bigs, Hardy becomes expendable, and can be moved to strengthen a weakness. I don't believe for a second the Brewers are even going to be in the CC sweepstakes, and it seems as Sheets is sort of an afterthought in Milwaukee. If they want to continue to play at a high level, a rotation of Gallardo-Parra-Bush-Suppan-Villanueva isn't going to get them back to the post-season. It will be an interesting winter for the Brewers. They're going to have to trade Prince to get pitching back. It's sad for them, as they've spent the last 5 years drafting/developing some great talent, and they have to blow it up after really only 2 seasons of competing.
  8. One vote for Obama in Matteson, Illinois
  9. Not an actual movie, but the ESPN special on the death of Hank Gathers gets me every time. I actually have a pretty sweet Gathers retro LMU jersey in my sports basement.
  10. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 06:23 AM) Rose has some amazing hops! Still im curbing my enthusiasm just a bit... he was going against the Mavs' second stringers pretty much the whole 4th Quarter. There was a lot to be impressed with though, especially that shot from the baseline that gave the bulls the lead. I was worried that Rose couldn't hit a jumper, for at least one night he proved he can. Rose was going up against Jajuan Smith on some of those plays, who is a sensational defender.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) HYIYM and Big Bang are both quality and depending on the week one might be better than the other. I also watch Heroes and Terminator on Monday. Heroes I actually think has been good this year (I know im in the minority but i like where the story arc is heading.) Terminator, well maybe its just cause as a kid I liked it, but whatever its a good waste of an hour. Give me Prison Break on Monday over any of those shows. I watched a little of Worst Week, and while it's basically a cheap version of Meet the Parents, the main girl on that show is smoking. BTW, did you Friday Night Lights fans know that Minka Kelly is dating Jeter?
  12. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) lol,please...a one year wonder if ever I saw one, they got career years out of all their no name BP Reminds me of (Howell) Cotts, (Balfour) Politte, and (Wheeler) Hermanson
  13. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:35 AM) Hulk Hogan's friend? The Wrestler? yes
  14. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:33 AM) f*** man, if price comes up as gold, these rays will NEVER not go to another world series in the foreseeable future I bet you they don't next year. Too many innings on all these young guys arms.
  15. Anyone see Nasty Boy Knobbs down the LF line on Bay's foul ball? Also, J. Gomes looks like Justin Timberlake on steroids.
  16. Hopefully Brandon Allen doesn't hit for the Red Sox here.
  17. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:24 AM) Who gives a s***. No one watched the Sox/Astros series either, did that seem to matter? I would have rather it would be the Red Sox vs Cubs
  18. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:20 AM) I really need to go back this off-season and watch the innings Price pitched. I know they were few and far between, but the hype on this kid has been incredible, and it looks like he might live up to it. Is he locked into the rotation for next season? Yes, he'll be in the rotation, as Jackson seems on the outs.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 04:17 AM) Drew did not swing on that. I stand corrected...fantastic call by the home plate ump.
  20. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:17 AM) Wow. Price just manned the f*** up Thank Quentin that Drew put a lousy swing on that 0-1 pitch.
  21. Crisp could have beat that if he went for the base.
  22. Why in the hell would you bring in Wheeler to face a guy who saw 1000 pitches against him a few days ago?
  23. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:20 AM) How many times do they have to mention that Carl Crawford was going to play basketball at UCLA or be Nebraska's QB? I've heard it 8000 times now I think. And the funny thing is it's not very accurate. Crawford received the usual recruiting letter in the mail from UCLA. Probably the same mail they send to 500 prospects every season.
