  1. An infield of Swisher, Alexei, Getz, and Fields would be one of the worst in the American League. I hate to say it, but Fields has turned into Joe Borchard.
  2. The new season of Prison Break is off to a great start.
  3. On the bright side, OC had some good at bats tonight. Maybe he'll realize it's his last month for his salary drive.
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 01:32 AM) Ick. What an awful ballgame. CQ's really pressing.
  5. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 02:26 AM) I can't imagine anyone of them being put in high leverage situations, unless one of them just starts pitching out of their minds. The one guy I am interested in is MacDougal. Not so much for this year, but for next. Mac has spent alot of time in AAA, and hopefully that was a bit of a wakeup call for him. I am a huge Mac fan, and could be a huge contributor for next season if he gets his head on straight. Are the yahoo stats for MacDougal accurate?
  6. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 02:18 AM) Swisher needs to do something crazy, such as jump up and down in the dugout, to reenergize this team. I know it's likely a coincidence, but this team was playing with a lot more energy with Uribe at 3b.
  7. It would be very nice to see Logan be a useful LOOGY the rest of the way.
  8. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 12:45 AM) It must be impossible for you to sit down. What does that mean? Harden's ERA is under 2 this season. Cliff Lee is definitely the Cy Young, as he has the wins and is more valuable to his team by giving them longer appearances.
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 01:41 AM) So from his record aside this year...would you really say Cliff Lee is the best pitcher in baseball? please.... Him and Rich Harden
  10. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 12:26 AM) Not to be a defeatist or a pessimist, but I think Ill go do homework since I can basically tell how this game is gonna go... You need to ask for my friend Jake's (Mr. Optimism) permission.
  11. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 01:15 AM) Well, the Twins have 3 games left on this road trip where we were supposed to gain ground and we're all even. I can't say I am surprised. We definitely have to be the underdog going down the stretch in my opinion. Assuming we're even, you have to give them the edge. With the Sox having 3 games remaining at Minnesota, you have to think we'll have to win 2 of 3 there.
  12. Richard will make a good 6th/7th inning reliever down the road. It's just when teams see him the second time through the lineup, they realize he's just not very good.
  13. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 01:07 AM) Is it just me or does Richard just throw the SAME pitch everytime? Yeah, he's pretty brutal. Every pitch is from the same arm angle. His offspeed pitchers are disgustingly mediocre.
  14. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 12:53 AM) clayton really getting squeezed it seems like This umpire is f***ing terrible.
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 11:50 PM) Our strategy against pitchers at times is horses***. We get a rookie making his major league debut and he is wild. So what is our strategy, swing early in the count. Now we have a guy who pours strikes, with a lot of fastballs early in the count. And what do we do, we take 2. This is dumb. In reality, the Sox should pound Lee. He throws high 91 mph fastballs for the most part. So far tonight, the Sox have taken about 5 get me over fastballs that were right there to be crushed. Of course, it would be nice if we'd stop playing Swisher and Crede against LHP.
  16. Clayton is such a mental midget out there.
  17. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 11:45 PM) 40 pitches for Lee through 2.2 He's one pitcher you have to say screw the pitch count when you face him. As Hawk is saying, our approach is all wrong against him. You have to be aggressive and hit those pitches that he throws to get ahead in the count.
  18. Yay, another weak fly out by Crede to the right side.
  19. Good grief, this defense has no range. If it's going to be a long night, I might have to start watching Prison Break at 7pm
  20. Nice catch by Dye...he could have busted his gut on that play.
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) He never had any chance. That is true, but he was going the wrong way anyways. I was actually surprised to hear Hawk criticize OC for getting a bad jump on AJP's single. All I know is this ump has a very weird strike zone.
