  1. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 10:27 PM) I just can't get over Swisher over Wise and Thome over Griffey DHing. I think with Kazmir's wildness of late might be the reason Thome is in there, but I can't fathom why Swisher is in there. D. Wise is horrific against LHP. It's pretty simple.
  2. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) It's interesting. I'm nowhere near as nervous as I was on Monday and Tuesday. It's not even close. You're preaching to the choir on this. I'm just happy that we never have to hear about how this team choked away the AL Central lead in the last week. By the time the debate and the Cubs game was over last night (as well as fathom becoming an uncle!), I had almost forgot about the 6-4 loss.
  3. The Dodgers should start Pierre over Kemp against Harden.
  4. It was idiotic...sure seemed to get Balfour more pumped up than anything else.
  5. Hell of a game by Fukudome tonight.
  6. Rocket out, but I'll take it.
  7. Well, this isn't good.
  8. Saito looks terrible out there. Please don't make this more interesting than it should be.
  9. I really enjoy watching Casey Blake.
  10. Wade has just amazing control of his fastball.
  11. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:01 AM) Marmol made Lou look like a fool last playoff season. I've said that Reynolds hitting a homer against Marmol in game 1 is the most shocking homer I've ever seen.
  12. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:50 AM) On a cold night they should have left him in, IMHO. Nah, they were starting to hit him hard. They're going with a 3 man rotation, so they'd have to save him for game 5.
  13. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:48 AM) What's the situation? 3 straight hits, 7-1, 1st and 3rd, 2 outs.
  14. Fantastic outing by Billingsley. His stuff was filthy. Big out here for whoever is relieving, can't let the Cubs get back into this game.
  15. Might be time to bring the bullpen in.
  16. Billingsley seems to have lost it this inning. 3 very deep fly balls have been hit against him.
  17. Damn, I thought Kemp had that ball.
  18. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:43 AM) .236 BA in 2005 Well, he homered against Contreras.
  19. They just showed that in 1999, the Indians and Red Sox played a Game 5. I remember watching that game, and our very own Jim Thome hit one of the longest homers I've ever seen against Saberhagen. That was the game Pedro came in and dominated in relief.
  20. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:43 AM) Who was the s***ty shortstop I am getting them confused. Adam Everett?
  21. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:41 AM) You realize it is Mike Lamb you are talking about right? He wasn't terrible then.
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:39 AM) Cotts, Politte, and Hermanson all sold their souls for 2005, and should be thanked. After watching it 1000 times, I still don't know how Mike Lamb missed that 3rd strike against Cotts in Game 1.
  23. If you're a Friday Night Lights fan with Directv, don't forget it starts tomorrow.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:28 AM) I'd actually say I'm a little bit more nervous about tomorrow's Sox game than today's, but quite frankly, if the Sox lose to a better team, I can live with that, and I'm convinced the Rays are a better team. I just did not want to see the Sox lose to the Twins. See, this is another post that I completely agree with. No matter what happens in the postseason, the tiebreak game will be such a fantastic memory. I'm so happy I was there.
