  1. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:26 AM) 6-0 in the 7th? this game is over SHUT UP!
  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:23 AM) Cubs fans get ripped on all the time for not watching the game, going to Wrigley just to drink, blah blah blah. The Sox fans rep for caring more about Cubs than the Sox IMO is on the same level, and just as embarrassing. That's fine, I respect that philosophy. I'll be able to watch our game tomorrow, so I'm sure the anxiety will be there.
  3. Shouldn't Piniella pull Zambrano for a possible start in game 5?
  4. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:22 AM) That's such a Cubs esque statement to make. World Series or bust. Every season. Ugh. You should know my style enough to know I'm one of the most intense Sox fans there is. However, I just feel like we sold our soul to win 3 straight games after the terrible stretch.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:20 AM) This is how I feel. Don't get me wrong, I will take it very hard if we lose tomorrow, but this is making my day. Want to hear something sad? I was more anxious for this game than the Sox game today. Maybe it's cause I knew I wouldn't see the Sox game on tv.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:19 AM) The way I look at it is that we are playing with the house's money,we weren't expected to win the AL central and here we are,we still got a shot vs the Devil Rays tomorrow...on the other hand the Cubs had the best record in the NL and home field advantage and expected to at least get to the WS I absolutely, positively support this statement. For my money, the Tuesday game was our World Series.
  7. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:17 AM) Too bad the ump blew it. It would've been cool to see every Cubs player in the infield make an error. BTW, thanks for calling me a dips*** after Thome's homer.
  8. This is a big inning for Billingsley. He can't let the Cubs feel like they're back in the game.
  9. Does the 2nd base umpire have money on the Cubs? Two terrible calls tonight.
  10. Wow, Blake was clearly safe at 2nd base on that.
  11. That was a very nice catch by Manny. His hair could have got caught on the ivy.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:58 AM) It will be interesting to see the type of contract Manny gets this off season. The guy can absolutely rake but he is 36 and his defense (not that it matters with the way he swings the bat) is really bad and will only get worse. I could see him getting 3 years, 70 million from the Yankees.
  13. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) Dodgers organization won't let go of Manny. I at least I can't imagine they would not match any offer. I don't think he's expected back there, even though it seems like a perfect fit.
  14. Go read the Bill Simmons novel on Manny on espn.com. Some interesting stuff on him.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 02:55 AM) F it...just move Quentin to CF and Manny to LF and just mash the ball. Trade Thome, put Dye at DH, CQ in RF, Manny in LF
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:54 AM) So this Manny guy is pretty good Isn't it f***ing awesome to root for him? That's it...trade Quentin for Lincecum, and sign Manny.
  17. Aramis couldn't get to 2nd base fast enough to block the throw.
  18. That has to be interference on Lee at 2nd base.
  19. Ugh, you can't walk Zambrano there.
  20. Wow, that 0-1 to Kemp was pathetic.
  21. Damn, I really wish the wind was blowing in.
  22. BTW, Torre's hit-and-run call with Loney in the 2nd was amazing. Loney is a huge DP threat, as he's hit into 27 this season. Combined with Zambrano's sinker ability, that was the perfect call.
  23. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 03:19 AM) Zambrano always get that outside half of the opposite batter's box. It's f***ing ridiculous. My first bad memory was that Sunday game at Wrigley in 2003 where Manuel pulled Bartolo after 80 some pitches, and Angel was giving Zambrano EVERYTHING outside. Should've swept that one. I'm sure fathom remembers this too. Oh yes....Marte blew it in the 8th inning. I had to go to my girlfriend's family function after that, and they're all Cubs fans. Sadly, I married the girl
  24. Blah, that 3rd strike wasn't close. Big inning for Billingsley here.
