  1. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:37 AM) Maybe Fields will go with Broadway and Anderson to Seattle for Beltre? Although, it will probably take another guy. Richard? Shelby? Egbert? You do realize that guys like Broadway and Egbert have absolutely no trade value?
  2. Kalapse, where are you to comment on that weak fly ball by Crede to right field? Screw it, just trade for Huff and put him at 3rd base. His defense will suck, but it's not like it would be worse than Crede this year or Fields next year.
  3. Before tonight, we had been playing very close games against these teams. Simply put, these teams have good starting pitchers, and our offense feasts on inferior pitching.
  4. Pull Jermaine...no reason to risk injury.
  5. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:10 AM) Wow. This has been the absolute worst game this season. Not even close...did people actually expect us to win at Fenway against Dice-K?
  6. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:10 AM) Ugh. This is starting to get worrisome. I can't believe Ozzie was able to control himself this inning from getting tossed.
  7. More awesome defense by the White Sox. Let Broadway come in and get the over in the game.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:08 AM) I hope this is the last time we make that mistake, unless it's Joakim Soria, who isn't going anywhere. I mean, Horacio is 2x better then Boone Logan, but that isn't saying much, as I might be better then Boone Logan right now. No, he's really not 2x better. At least Logan seems like he might be able to throw a good slider. Ramirez's pitches all seem to hang.
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 02:05 AM) Not sure it has been said in the thread(just got into work) but Bowden will be up for the Red Sox tomorrow. Out of the bullpen, I believe.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 02:05 AM) Way to go, Horacio. I'll sound like greg here, but stop trading for KC relievers!
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 02:04 AM) What the f*** is so great about the human error aspect of baseball? Personally I find it f***ing annoying. Angel Hernandez sucks at his job, and is the most hated umpire among his peers.
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:00 AM) That's just with 2 outs. The opponents line with 2 out and RISP is .229/.308/.386/.693 Yeah, I just looked that up after typing it. It's funny how bad the stats make a pitcher's ERA look in situations like RISP with 2 outs.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 12:59 AM) then i guess it could be much worse. Sorry, it was .279 with RISP coming into the game.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:55 AM) but he's always been a strikeout pitcher and that allows him to get out of jams. always has. he's done well tonight, imo. Against another pitcher the Sox would be in this game. Get out of jams? Didn't DJ say that batters are hitting .292 against him with RISP and 2 outs?
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:54 AM) aj pull thy f***ing head out of your ass. He's 0 for his last 12 as well
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 12:51 AM) i don't see what the point is in discussing javy's struggles - he hasn't been that bad tonight. The story of this game is the role of b**** played by the white sox to one dice-k. we're the only team cora hits. nice job, aj. Javy's allowed 10 hits in 5 innings of baseball...not exactly a stellar outing. However, this offense just looks lethargic.
  17. Just pull Javy now, and give his arm some rest.
  18. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:47 AM) at least we have a winning record against the bad teams? Don't we have something like 18 games left against teams above .500, the most in baseball?
  19. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:45 AM) I'm gonna take the under. He looks awesome tonight. Agreed, if he has this type of control, you tip your cap. Our hitters do look a little tired though, which is bound to happen. Losing games like tonight or this coming Monday are fine....but it's why you can't let the like of Rad Liz and Lance Cormier/Rocky Cherry defeat you.
  20. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 12:44 AM) PULL the f***ing ball Crede! I love it...every time I see that, I think of you.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 12:42 AM) Who do you want, Broadway or Richard? Considering it would be in the ALCS, I'll take my chance with Javy then. The chances that both Sox teams makes it to the ALCS is very slim.
  22. What a terrible pitch by Vazquez. He went from throwing great offspeed pitches tonight to having his worst inning with the offspeed pitch of the season.
  23. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 01:34 AM) When he's on, I figure Javy's always going to give up 3-4 runs against good teams, 0-2 against scrubs. I just hoped the Sox would be able to score tonight, but it looks like DK has their #. Not good for playoffs. Considering he's clearly the #4 starter on our roster, I could careless about Javy's potential in the playoffs.
  24. 8 hits now in 4 1/3 against Javy.
  25. Javy's hung an offspeed pitch twice tonight, and it was both with 2 strikes to Ortiz. Let's go Oakland!
