QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) I look forward to that glorious day when I am the only non-moderator on this site. That day is coming, my friends..... I think I'm in the same boat.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 05:45 PM) Someone mentioned my biggest thing. Him being so scared of contact during DPs that has resulted in some mistakes is just wimpy to me. THis is the white sox not the... I don't even know I have a much bigger issue with him getting in front of hard hit grounders that land right in front of him. He's made three terrible plays on balls hit just like this (opening day, at Minnesota last month, and the Upton ball from Saturday).
  5. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 06:08 PM) Anyone who brings up OC's comments about Scioscia being the best manager he has played under... Hope no one who dislikes that has also criticized Guillen's in-game managing. If so, then you're likely agreeing with Orlando, no? It's called being a professional. Nothing like disrespecting your new manager a few months after joining the team.
  6. I know I overreact in my dislike for certain players. However, when Balta, Kalapse, Santo, and Tony all agree with me, then I feel like the hatred is justified.
  7. Hell yes!
  8. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 05:15 AM) This is the ball game right here. Mauer and and Morneau up with 1 out. Please pitch around Morneau.
  9. 2-2 on a no doubter to the opposite field by Ruiz.
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 04:20 AM) Yeah. I just don't get it. It freaks me out to be honest. I'll be honest, I was laughing my ass off.
  11. So this interview on CNN with this Hillary supporter....um, yeah. The fact she got a 5 minute interview in ridiculous.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 03:52 AM) here we go, risp... Slowest developing play ever, but the result was good.
  13. Great game going on between Phillies and Mets. Bruntlett tied it with a 2 out double in the 9th.
  14. QUOTE (sox1844 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 03:46 AM) Really? Who else said that? All I see is him laughing and doing funny handshakes in the dugout. Hate is a pretty strong word. Scott Merkin, Mark Gonzales, everyone on the Score
  15. QUOTE (sox1844 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 03:43 AM) I think we can all agree that JD was at fault on that. No? And both handled it well once it was over. BTW, it's not just Joe Cowley who has said that OC is hated in the clubhouse. Yes Dye was at fault, but I guarantee you he doesn't flip out like that if it was someone like Swisher.
  16. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 03:42 AM) Sportsline, FOXsports say $10 million but roto has it at $9 million as well. Regardless, I can't think of too many teams offering a 20% cut to a bigger name player or even the last time the Sox went to arbitration with a player. Unless OC is the WS MVP, I cannot fathom how he'll be brought back.
  17. QUOTE (sox1844 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 02:38 AM) I want to know why people think he's so pompous? Or that he doesn't want to play here? Because a winner like Joe Cowley said so? or by looking at Jermaine Dye blowing up on him about something stupid.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 02:38 AM) I can certainly see him winding up with the Dodgers. I'd be surprised honestly, as they seem to have their hearts set on Furcal.
  19. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 02:36 AM) I'll take this. The game is on here in Central Iowa. 2-0 Mariners on a Clement single Circle Me Bert sounds very deflated.
  20. Who will be looking for shortstops this offseason? OC, in my mind, would be perfect in San Fran.
  21. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 03:34 AM) His listed 2008 salary is $10 million which means the Sox will have to offer at least $8 million. Screw the questionable metrics and draft picks (it's the Sox drafting, remember?) We gave up a consistent starting pitcher for this asshole. I'm more excited to see him leaving the Sox than Darin Erstad. That's saying ALOT. Honestly, at least Danks/Floyd have been outstanding this year, which makes you grateful we created room for them. It's too bad we couldn't have received Brandon Phillips for Garland.
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) JD Drew is going to the DL. Big blow to Sauxxxxxxx. They traded for Kotsay tonight.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 02:29 AM) Your own payroll resource has him at $9 million this year. I didn't think the team could offer him a lower salary than the one he had this year? I thought you have to offer 80 pct.
  24. Since someone asked earlier, I think Ramirez is much better suited for 2nd base. He seems to have difficulty on grounders that stay low to the ground, and when he has to rush his throw, he struggles. Thanks Kalapse for the arbitration figures. That's not bad at all.
  25. Kalapse.....how much would we have to offer him in arbitration?
