  1. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 02:36 AM) And Russell to come in?????? I don't get this at all...with Borowski coming in, you need to keep this at a 1 run game. I'd much rather see Thornton vs Gutierrez than Russell vs Dellucci.
  2. Thornton getting hurt on his mediocre offspeed pitch. He was due for a bad outing, especially after the Morgan Curse.
  3. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) Yesterday we scored 9 runs. Today we faced the pitcher with the best ERA in the league. Actually, that's on Thursday.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) Offense can go into "slumps" against fantastic pitching. Thats what good pitchers are supposed to do. This is probably the toughest pitching stretch this team is going to see this season. Exactly what I mean...we need Dye to break out of this little funk he's in, and for Ramirez to start getting hits again.
  5. This is definitely not the time for our offense to go into a slump.
  6. Thome strikes out on a 3-2 offspeed pitch for the 100th time this season.
  7. That 2-1 pitch was his chance.
  8. QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 03:21 AM) Why are the Sox the only team that can't hit Betancourt? Haven't we crushed him this season?
  9. Swing the freaking bat. That was a great pitch to hit.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 02:17 AM) JD has looked downright terrible this series. His swing has been a little long.
  11. Damn, I thought that was gone.
  12. Maybe CQ can do his flip swing into the Indians bullpen.
  13. We'll get the hot dog eater, I believe.
  14. Last time we had Linebrink pitch the 9th in a tie game at home, CQ was the leadoff hitter in the bottom of the 9th.
  15. Mercy, that looked like it was gone off the bat.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 03:08 AM) Thats big, leadoff hitter gone. Looked like a bloop hit off the bat. He did a great job of keeping Sizemore off-balanced.
  17. Not only can we not get a base runner, but we just gave Lee a chance to close this out if the Indians score. Linebrink's coming in....the match-up against Sizemore is very scary.
  18. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 01:59 AM) That is what is so fun about having a young pitcher like Danks around. We are watching him evolve in front of our eyes. He is growing EVERY start. You see him start to trust his pitches more, and build confidence. It's a blast to watch. The stat regarding him only allowing more than 3 runs in a game twice this season is so studly.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) Danks use of his cutter was the reason Garko didn't park that. He's done a tremendous job pitching inside most of this season. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't try to say Danks got lucky on that. Great inning by Danks there, and the K gets the crowd into it. CQ looks ready to blast one, so let's get a base runner this inning.
  20. Huge batter here, you don't want Sizemore to bat this inning.
  21. Luckily Garko was just barely out in front of that. Nice to see Danks limit his pitch count tonight.
  22. I really disagree with Danks going back out there. He doesn't have much experience, if any, pitching this late into the game. They have 3 straight righties up this inning, it would be a good spot for Dotel.
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 01:49 AM) I don't see why the Sox don't just sit on the fastball and take it to right all night. Danks doing a great job with the help of some phenomenal defense. Let's get some damn runs here. I agree, Sox have had a bad approach against Lee all game. They almost seem intimidated by him, even though he's not throwing anything special. Lee's not throwing many fastballs compared to his usual game.
  24. Choo always looks like a great hitter whenever I watch him.
