  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2008 -> 04:14 AM) Nice catch by Skip. Hopefully Ankiel or Pujols end this, as I give Troy Glaus a 1 pct chance of touching a Kerry Wood pitch. There was the 1 pct, but it was a weak pop up. He needs to get back on the juice, he has no bat speed.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2008 -> 03:29 AM) Wow, Soriano. Lou should pull him off the field. True story...as soon as I posted this, I thought "I hope Soriano doesn't bat in a big spot in the 9th".
  3. Nice catch by Skip. Hopefully Ankiel or Pujols end this, as I give Troy Glaus a 1 pct chance of touching a Kerry Wood pitch.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ May 3, 2008 -> 03:11 AM) I thought Ball 3 to Fontenot looked pretty good. Molina got up too quickly to catch it. I thought the first pitch in the Soriano AB was a strike. The 3rd strike on Izturis in the 7th was a brutal call.
  5. Interesting match-up here. Villone is usually all over the place, as he has very little command. Then, you have a hitter with one of the best ideas of the strike zone in all of baseball. Hopefully he just pops up to center.
  6. Time to pull Isringhausen. He's got nothing.
  7. Anyone have radar readings on Isringhausen? Not a lot of zip on these pitches.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ May 3, 2008 -> 03:02 AM) Please. Throw one out and over the plate and he could just as easily hit a single. Ball wasn't that far inside. Exactly...have you ever seen him bat. All he does is try to get hit by that pitch. As soon as the catcher sat up inside, I was shaking my head.
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 3, 2008 -> 04:01 AM) Such a sweet swing when Soriano lines it up. I can't believe they threw him something close to being a fastball.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ May 3, 2008 -> 04:00 AM) I can't believe what I just saw. That's what you get for throwing an inside fastball to Reed Johnson.
  11. Crap, you could see that coming on the 2-0 pitch.
  12. With a 2 run lead, why would you ever throw Reed Johnson an inside fastball? If you miss by even a few inches, it's going to hit him.
  13. Pat Burrell is awesome...walk off homer against Wilson.
  14. Anyone else notice the hot girl behind Doc Rivers with the huge rack? Yeah, me neither.
  15. Wow, Soriano. Lou should pull him off the field.
  16. So Wainwright just got pulled around the 85 pitch mark so a lefty could face Pie. Now, it will be Reed Johnson up instead. I don't know, I'd take my chances facing Pie.
  17. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 3, 2008 -> 03:02 AM) I stand corrected... besides for some players actually having a hot streak early this season to go along with the awesomeness of Quentin, the offense hasn't really changed at all since 2007. I wasn't able to watch the game (I can't wait until I can ditch directv, but from what I've heard, Comcast ain't much better, if that), but how fast was it? Probably around 2:15
  18. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 3, 2008 -> 01:59 AM) besides for the first week or so, this team's offensive approach has not changed a bit from 2007. In the first week, we got shut down by Carmona, shut down by Westbrook, and were getting no hit by Dontrelle into the 5th inning.
  19. Villanueva just gave up back-to-back-back homers.
  20. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:43 AM) Remember in 2005 when Cleveland couldn't hit and then they fired Eddie Murray, and then started hitting. This happens every year: i) team can't hit ii) team fires hitting coach iii) team starts hitting What is taking so long? The Sox had a payroll over 100 million dollars last year, and barely won 70 games. The only person who wasn't brough back was Razor Shines. That's all you need to know.
  21. Ned Yost strikes again, as he's leaving Villanueva in to die. I think 7 of last 8 hitters have reached, and they've blown a 5-4 game.
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 3, 2008 -> 01:30 AM) im certainly not giving up on Konerko, but if people are waiting for konerko to be the paul konerko of 2004-2006...i think they will be sorely disappointed... If his hands are really hurting every time he swings, we should put him on the DL.
  23. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:25 AM) Last year? Okay, how about the years before that? And it's too early into the season to start comparing statistics. Paulie has always been a late starter. Plus, as far as I know Kotchman is not as good defensively. And PK is good defensively? His defense has been atrocious this season, and his lack of range offsets his ability to scoop balls in the dirt.
  24. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:25 AM) Last year? Okay, how about the years before that? And it's too early into the season to start comparing statistics. Paulie has always been a late starter. Considering Kotchman's age, I think it's pretty clear that he's blossoming into a big time hitter.
