QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 24, 2008 -> 02:16 AM) Hawk is seriously complaining that the homeplate is moving around on Floyd while Floyd is throwing it into the other batter's box. That man is ridiculous. /// Get out of it, Floyd! Do you even know what home plate jumping around means? It has nothing to do with the umpire.

Wow, he has completely lost it. The fact no one is warming up is laughable.

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 24, 2008 -> 02:10 AM) there are few players i hate more than that guy Swisher will deliver, and make us forget about the idea we tried to get Hunter to play CF.

Ugh, why would you throw him a first pitch fastball? It's ok, needed to score runs anyway.

5/23 gamethread: Angels (28-21) vs Sox (26-20); 7:11; WGN
Well, that leadoff walk was erased quickly. Dye has to use the whole field.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2008 -> 12:59 AM) There are an awful lot of pitchers that work that way, so I doubt it matters, as long as you have good stuff. Starting to throw some nasty offspeed stuff.

I love that change-up

5/23 gamethread: Angels (28-21) vs Sox (26-20); 7:11; WGN
It would be nice for this offense to start showing up for the first few innings. It would give our starters a little breathing room.

5/23 gamethread: Angels (28-21) vs Sox (26-20); 7:11; WGN
Floyd's doing this by throwing about 90 pct fastballs. Usually, as the game goes on, he starts to throw more curves/change-ups.

QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 24, 2008 -> 01:40 AM) I worry about Swisher. Anderson doesn't look like a major league hitter. Can we take Rowand instead of Swisher?

5/23 gamethread: Angels (28-21) vs Sox (26-20); 7:11; WGN
Ha, Swisher has no power. And I wish Carlos Zambrano was our DH.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 24, 2008 -> 01:31 AM) 49 Ks in 44 games played. for Thome? Can't T-Dawg me the DH?

QUOTE (knightni @ May 24, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) Perhaps Thome shouldn't reach his appearances clause in order to activate his option. If Thome plays this way the whole season, it wouldn't shock me if he retired after the season.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 24, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) Perhaps Thome shouldn't reach his appearances clause in order to activate his option. I had no clue his batting average was all the way down to .207. I thought he had been doing better.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 24, 2008 -> 12:27 AM) if you see on his swing he goes off balance - it was nothing intentional They'll still call that on occasion. Dye had such a good AB, then fell into the Sox trap of swinging at 3-2 junk.
-
5/23 gamethread: Angels (28-21) vs Sox (26-20); 7:11; WGN
Ugh, you get the first two on before CQ and Dye, and you expect to score.

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 24, 2008 -> 12:26 AM) was it injury or the fact that he was getting hammered? Says injury

Dye got lucky, that could have been interference. Time for Thome to come up clutch.
