5/15 gamethread: Sox (19-20) vs Angels (24-18); CSN; 9:05
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 16, 2008 -> 03:52 AM) The sox need to find out, is this a mechanical slump that Jim is having, his bat getting a tick slow, or is he hurt. 2 years ago, and that ball just smashed the rally monkey off the scoreboard. It's simple...when he hits it the other way, he hits it with authority. When he tries to pull it, he rolls over it.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 16, 2008 -> 03:45 AM) CQ might not get a very good pitch ot hit in this at bat i'm thinking Had a great pitch on 2-1, but fouled it off. He has quite the vulgar mouth.

Wow, I love the 2-3 in this lineup.

Garland seems to be throwing harder than when he was with the Sox.

Crede hustled all the way, and would have been safe even if Uribe was out. Nice to see the Sox grab the momentum back.

That was close....get the runner in OC.

Taking 2-0? I don't like that at all.

I'm so ready for Uribe to be back at shortstop. I guarantee he would have taken control on Iztruis' pop up.

3 hits allowed when Javy had two strikes on the hitter.

I don't understand why Dye is playing Vlad on the warning track.

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 15, 2008 -> 10:46 PM) anyone got a scouting report on this guy we face tonight? Yep, if you get more than two runners on in an inning against him, the term "Judy" starts being thrown around.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 15, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) The 1st at bat of this game will likely feature the 2 pieces who were part of the off-season deal. Let's see who comes out on top tonight. OC owns Garland in his career.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (jackie hayes @ May 15, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) His career whip is about 1.5, and it's never been much better than that. (A least not in a while.) All of a sudden he's Johan. It can't go on. I can't even believe it's gone on this long. I was literally agape when I looked at the box score. Unbefrigginlievable. He's also facing the Padres today.

QUOTE (jackie hayes @ May 15, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) Ryan Dempster. What the hell. He has an above average slider...that's all you need in the NL. The rest of the NL Central got pounded today.

QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ May 15, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) Thome. Put Dye at DH. Please!!! I'd sit PK tonight. With Garland on the mound, he's a double play waiting to happen.

Jason Isringhausen just cost the Cardinals another game! The Brewers and Cards bullpen has cost them so many games already this season.

I'd like to see Anderson play tonight, as we all know Garland doesn't throw a lot of curves or sliders. Anderson is one of our best straight fastball hitters.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 15, 2008 -> 08:12 PM) How do cub pitchers strike out at least one guy just about every inning. Zambrano I get but Lilly and Dempster and doing it to. Because those 3 are a pretty good 3 man rotation? Dempser's batting average against is phenomenal. At this point, the only way I see them not cruising to the NL Central is if Zambrano or Marmol get hurt.
